All new players are mostly from man Utd's bench...they are not top class players~~Sunerland is not very your case~~
possibly Newcastle is more likely to be the team in your example...always spending alot...but never get a satisfactory result~~

Claude Makelele will end his five-year spell at Chelsea by completing a move to Paris St Germain.
PSG have announced the French midfielder will join them after reaching agreement on terms of the deal with the player and Chelsea.
Makelele was a £16.8million signing by Chelsea from Real Madrid in 2003. The 35-year-old won two league titles during his spell at Stamford Bridge, and helped the club reach last season's Champions League final.
Makelele retired from international football after France's disappointing showing at Euro 2008.
A brief statement on the PSG website read: 'Charles Villeneuve, president of Paris St Germain, Paul Le Guen, coach of the first team, and Alain Roche, head scout, will have a press conference today.
'On this occasion they will present to the journalists the French international midfielder Claude Makelele, who will join Paris St Germain's first team for the 2008/09 season.'
Makelele was brought to Chelsea from Real Madrid by former manager Claudio Ranieri, shortly after Roman Abramovich took over as the club's new owner.
The former Nantes, Marseille and Celta Vigo player added defensive strength to Chelsea's midfield and linked up well with Frank Lampard in the centre.
He departs at a time Chelsea have an abundance of midfield options, with Deco, Lampard, Michael Essien, Michael Ballack, Joe Cole, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Mikel Jon Obi set to compete for selection next season.
A statement on Chelsea's website read: 'Everyone at Chelsea would like to take this opportunity to thank Claude for the five years of service he has given to the club.

that's true...their spending power is way better than lots of bottom table teams (Bolton) and mid table teams like Portsmouth, Blackburn..
such a large amount of spending fee is required because the difference between Championship and EPL is huge...
Black Cat was the only team not regulated back to Champiionship last season~~and Birmingham and Derby were 1st and 2nd runner-up at Championship in 06-07....
If newbie teams intend not to spend big in EPL, it's either their coach is very good at saving teams from regulation, like Big Sam or Harry Redknapp, or they only wanna earn fast and big money....like Derby or Watford....having no intention to survive in EPL ...

its always common to see newly promoted clubs buying in loads of players to get ready for the EPL. Sunderland spent around £30 in the 1st half of last season and spent around £40 in total 07/08. like what Arthur mentioned, the money is really needed, but how you spend it is another thing. The TV rights (including overseas rights) for EPL is like £45 million per club a year from 2007 to 2010 currently, so going back down means you have to spend alot of time rebuilding and restructuring.
having survived the drop, Keane will have to find a way to move further up the table. I can't say his transfers are bad, since those at the bottom end of the table doesn't really have the luxury of choosing the too good players , but staying up in the league is still the priority.

[/b][/td][/tr][tr][td=2,1,487]Fourteen years after turning down the club he grew up supporting in favour of Wolves, the Republic of Ireland captain finally completed a dream move following a medical at Melwood.

The transfer is the sixth major move of a career which began with South Dublin side Crumlin United before the prodigious teenager burst onto the scene at Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1997.
A big-money move to top flight Coventry followed before Marcelo Lippi, manager of Italian giants Inter Milan, offered £13million for his services in 2000.
Keane would team up with Ronaldo and Christian Vieri in Serie A, though the move was to turn sour when Lippi was sacked.
A loan to Leeds United was arranged in December 2000, a deal made permanent six month later.
Unfortunately, Keane's arrival at Elland Road coincided with a growing financial crisis, and he was to join the exodus of stars in 2002 with a £7million transfer to Tottenham Hotspur.
Over the next few years the frontman, famed for his cartwheel goal celebration, finally settled, tallying an impressive 107 goals in 253 appearances and becoming a firm fans' favourite.
So good was his form in February 2006 that Inter president Massimo Moratti admitted his regret at letting Keane go.
Three months before departing for Merseyside he won his first senior honour as a player after helping Spurs beat Chelsea in the League Cup final.
The 28-year-old has also carved out a name for himself on the international stage having made up part of the so-called Golden Generation which emerged in the late 1990s.
The striker was part of the Irish side which triumphed in the 1998 European U18 Championships just months after making his senior bow against the Czech Republic.
His first international goal came against Malta in October 1998 and he is now the Republic's all-time record scorer ahead of Niall Quinn.
Keane famously scored a last-minute equaliser against Germany in the 2002 World Cup, one of three in the tournament.
Few were surprised when former Reds defender Steve Staunton handed him the captain's armband upon taking the Irish reins in 2006.
