Yes, Ben Haim can play as a right back, but I still don't think this is the reason why he is so expensive (8M), just because he is a Chelski player? He is not an intelligent player and not a leader, that means you will not feel "safety" when he is defending, you can pass through him if you are "tricky" enough.
For Bramble, he seems "improving", he scored a good goal at Anfield! :D
Boumsong and Bramble was the first choice combination in Newcastle's central defence until Bramble joined Wigan. :D:D:D But at this moment, I think Bramble is better than Boumsong, maybe we will see some rumours related to Bramble soon. :dev::dev:

Recruitment players from overseas (Ex.: Italy, Spain, Germany..) is quite expensive...Star players wont consider newly promoted team's approach..For some better than average players, they have to consider language problem and will they get used to England's life...Like Sunderland, they need players that could provide instant effects...they cant afford players to take a few months to get used to Bristish teams playing style...maybe that's the reason that they seldom recruit players from overseas...like mainly recruit from UK~~
and also the transfer fee is another problem,...they are kind of spend same amount of money for more players instead of just one or two better players....some players from Championship league are definitely good enough to play at EPL level...
One more reason i could think of is Bristish traditional FAITH~~...they dont want others to look them down, so they seldom people recruit players directly from overseas no matter how poor British players are...They still think British or Irish or Scott people are better than the others...
Just like Hiring England Manager, Paul Ince and Trevor Brooking are still blaming FA for hiring foreign person to manage england natinoal team....even we all know that there's no suitable British candidates are qualified to manager England now~~

I think Chimbonda is useful in Spurs squad, if the rumour is true, I really don't know why he will be axed by Ramos. :confused: For Lee, I heard that Ramos don't like a right-footed left back and I think his physical strength may not good enough in English football. The case of Paul Robinson is not difficult to understand as his overall performance is disappointed. Then the rest of them are the fringe players only ...... :)
Big Sam seems lack of another direction to manage a football team. It is difficult for Newcastle players to play "Bolton-style" football. The likes of Barton, Butt and Geremi are combative midfielders, that's why Newcastle's midfield is lacking creativity. I am afraid that Nolan is not the solution. TV presenter plots Luton rescue
Television presenter and lifelong Luton fan Nick Owen is fronting a bid to buy the troubled League One club.
His consortium, funded by local and overseas businessmen, expect a decision from the administrator on Wednesday.
"I cannot wait for us to get the go-ahead - I'm very hopeful," Owen told BBC Three Counties Radio.
Administrator Brendan Guilfoyle says "more than one" bid has been received and that they hope for exclusive talks with the winning bidder within a week.
"We have more than one bid which is obviously good news," said Guilfoyle, who imposed a deadline of 1700 GMT on Monday for all interested parties to lodge formal offers.
"We are now in the process of getting one bid to the stage of being the preferred bidder and then entering exclusive negotiations.
"The price of that is for one party to start funding the club straight away.
"We are asking for that to test their commitment."
Luton entered administration on 22 November and were deducted 10 points accordingly.
Owen confirmed that his consortium's bid is backed by the three principal supporters' groups, including the supporters' trust.
"It is a great lift to know they are right behind us," said the 60-year-old presenter of the BBC's Midlands Today.
"The people in the consortium are all lifelong Luton fans.
"These guys have worked so hard over a few weeks now to put together a very impressive application - 64 pages of it.
They are big Luton fans and have pulled together some very successful businessmen who are Luton fans.
"It blew my mind away when I read the application"
Some of the investment is being provided by former Luton youth player Mick Pattinson who is now president and chief executive of US housebuilder Barratt American.
He is joined by other long standing season-ticket holders and two unnamed former players who now have successful business interests.
"They're coming in because they want to see this club survive," said Owen, who added that former England manager Graham Taylor was acting as a football advisor to one other group which, he claimed, has not made a bid.
"I'm very positive that we could well be the only credible bid," said Owen.
Guilfoyle admitted last week that the club would be forced to sell players if funding was not made available instantly.
Chairman David Pinkney had agreed to fund the losses of the club out of his own pocket but that deal expired at the end of the year, potentially leaving Guilfoyle with no option.
But such a scenario could yet be avoided if a bidder agrees to invest enough, and hopes are high following Sunday's morale-boosting FA Cup draw with Liverpool.
"I sense the need to get there as early as we can and I am hopeful that within the next week we can get to that stage," said Guilfoyle.
"It is important at this stage to respect the confidentiality of the parties.
"They have shown us that they have the money but now we need them to open their wallets.
"The players are getting paid now for the first two weeks of January which they deserve after their recent results."

I will not manage again - Keegan
Former England boss Kevin Keegan says he is unlikely to manage a team again.
Keegan, 56, stepped down from his last job as Manchester City manager in March 2005 and now runs interactive football attraction Soccer Circus in Glasgow.
"I don't think it will happen," he told BBC One's Inside Sport. "I think my life has gone in a different direction.
"You never know, I mean I do get offers to go back into football, but I made a decision that I would come and do something different with my life."
He added: "I mean I haven't watched a game of football, I mean live, since my last game at Manchester City and I can't even remember what game that was now."
Keegan went into management after a glorious playing career with, among others, Liverpool and Hamburg, which earned him four league titles, a European Cup, two European Footballer of the Year awards and 63 caps.
He became Newcastle boss in 1992 and spent five rollercoaster years there before spells with Fulham, England and Manchester City.
Keegan was linked with a return to Newcastle in the summer as director of football after lifelong Magpies fan Mike Ashley took control of the club.
Manager Sam Allardyce was reportedly unhappy at the prospect but Keegan says he would never go back to St James' Park in that capacity.
"It's absolutely impossible to give Sam Allardyce a job at Newcastle and then go and fetch someone who is going to be some sort of threat, it doesn't work," said Keegan.
"Sam would be a fool to let it happen and the guy who goes in would be a fool to accept it.
"The chairman, who is not a fool, would be a fool to go and do it, too. It doesn't work."
Keegan, who led Newcastle to second place in the Premier League in 1996, also believes the monopoly Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have had on the top four places is bad for the English game.
He said: "It's very difficult to get into the top four. Why? Because the money they get from being there keeps them away from the others down there.
"So when you are at the smaller clubs or even some of the bigger clubs that aren't in there, it's about how you get in - it's very very difficult, as Newcastle and Man City have found out.
"Everyone says there are the top four and they are one league and then there's another league.
"You have got the people fighting to get in, that's the way I see it, that has been the big change."
