BREAKING NEWS:
D Transfer Rumours 成真了 ......Allardyce resigns as Bolton boss
Allardyce has spent 18 years at Bolton as a player and manager
Sam Allardyce has ended his eight-year reign as manager of Bolton after resigning with immediate effect. He has been linked with the manager's role at Manchester City and refused to attend the post-match press conference after Saturday's 2-2 draw with Chelsea.
He said: "This has been one of the hardest decisions I've ever made but it's time for a new exciting era for Bolton under different leadership."
Chairman Phil Gartside added: "His reasons are private, we respect that."
Allardyce has spent over 18 years at the club, as both player and manager, but steps down with two matches of the current campaign still to play.
The Trotters are currently in fifth spot and chasing Uefa Cup qualification.
"It was mutually decided that I step down now rather than at the end of the season," said Allardyce in a statement on the club website.
"That will give my successor the ideal opportunity to experience the preparation and build up of matchday in readiness of next season.
"After guiding the team into a position where the club is on the verge of qualifying for European football for the second time in three years, I feel it is the right moment to step down.
"I feel the club is in a great position to continue its upward trajectory with a talented, internationally-recognised squad supported by an excellent Academy programme under the guidance of a highly-skilled football management team.
"The foundations for the next phase is well and truly in place. It is with this knowledge that I feel confident that I am moving on with my life content with a legacy that I have tried to create for this special club.
"I wish the owner, chairman, staff, players and all the fans every success in the future."
Meanwhile, Gartside paid his own tribute to Allardyce, saying: "I have reluctantly accepted Sam's resignation after eight years of unprecedented success at the club.
"Since joining the club as manager in 1999, he has helped lead a fantastic transformation of this famous Lancashire club.
"He has helped design and build an infrastructure that will enable the club to continue the progress we have undoubtedly made during his period of office."

Sam Allardyce has resigned as manager of Bolton.
Allardyce leaves Bolton on the verge of qualification for the UEFA Cup, with
Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside confirming in a statement that Allardyce
has left the club amid rumours he could be appointed as Manchester City boss
in the summer.
Gartsidesaid: 'I have reluctantly accepted the resignation of Sam Allardyce
after eight years of unprecedented success at the club.' A BBC Panorama
investigation linked him to a bungs scandal, though Allardyce refuted the
accusations made in the programme and threatened the programme-makers with
legal action.
Panorama's 'Undercover: Football's Dirty Secrets' claimed that Allardyce and
his son Craig, formerly a football agent, were given illegal payments to
facilitate player transfers.
He has apparently revealed his reasons for stepping down to Gartside, but
the Bolton chairman wants the matter to be kept private.
Gartside said: 'I would like to thank Sam for his enormous contribution to
Bolton Wanderers, both as a player, but more importantly as a manager.
'Since joining the club as manager in October 1999, he has helped lead a
fantastic transformation of this famous Lancashire club and has helped
design and build an infrastructure that will enable the club to continue the
progress that we have undoubtedly made in his period of office.
'He has given his reasons for wanting to leave the club at this time, which
are private and we respect that privacy. 'I would like to wish Sam and his
family every success in the future.''

Originally posted by iknow at 2007-4-30 12:19 AM:

唔係掛
教得好地地 曼城依家反彈 遠離降級區 無理由依家秋後算帳炒皮雅斯架喎
係唔係果單收回佣案比人捉到痛腳呀 I was really surprised about his resignation
Originally posted by kingkin30 at 2007-4-30 03:41 AM:

可能大家有所不知,艾拿戴斯今年是孤...
宜家話會無歐協打又有點言之過早. 一來保頓仲排緊第5; 另外, 今季只要有頭7名就有歐洲賽踢, 加上宜家由副手森美李爾暫代, 現時情況應該不會太差 .....
