Views on Manchester United's Defeat by AC Milan
Hi guys this is my second post and it is about Man Utd again, hope that it will not be irritating. LOLAfter I have watched the whole match, i have the following conclusions:
1. People said that the heavy rain at the first half affected MU's performance, i will not totally disagree with that but sure it brings disadvantages for the team, especially as the away side, not as familiar with the stadium compared to AC Milan and when the team's attacking tactic is mostly based on C. Ronaldo, the slippery ground and ball may affect his footwork on the ball, but that is not a good excuse at all.
2. Second, its obvious that the defensive line had problems due to the previous injuries, although vidic had returned, it didnt really helped much. And the first goal scored by kaka is clearly a mistake on clearance of the defenders.
3. Third, Fergie had not appointed a player to man mark kaka and this was really a problem especially after the superb performance of him in the first leg. He is just to dangerous to be left alone.
4. Gattuso's has done a great job in limiting ronaldo's influence of the match on his runs and passes, and from this we can see that the other MU players may depend too much on him. When ronaldo's wasnt performing as good as he usually does, the team lacks ability to score.
5. Seedorf scored an excellent second goal, is it Brown who is trying to stop him? If yes, i wont blame him too much since we all know his abilities....lol
6. Ancelotti's tactics in the match is better than Fergie i think, gattuso marking ronaldo especially good for sure, and i cant believe he made subsititutions and used 6 defenfers( oddo, cafu, nesta, jankulovski, Kaladze and Favalli ) to prevent MU from scoring towards the end of the match, although it seemed weird, it worked out really well. However i dun understand why Fergie didnt not make substitution early in the match, the teams had been dominating the match for about 10 minutes early in the second half, but when it didnt seem to work, substitutions should be made; if i were Fergie, i would take in Smith or Baby Face Killer ( if they have also recovered in time) instead of Saha to subsititute Fletcher, making giggs on the ronaldo the right winger, from left to right giggs, smith/ baby face, rooney in front, Saha is just too unstable..How can you only have 3 defenders facing a team like Milan? Especially with Vidic who had just recovered from injury and Brown...thats is just suicide and it lead to the third goal..
So these are just my personal opinions, although i m a fan of MU, i think Milan deserved to win the match
:( me a United fans .....but agree with u...Milan do deserved the ticket to Athens...
Originally posted by HediSlimane at 2007-5-4 11:23 AM:
