c'mon guys
although his game isn't as flying as vc, kobe, t-mac
and not as powerful as shaq
yet his jump shots and speed for a centre is excellent
also, we chinese should be proud of him
plus as a chinese allstar like him is very humble
good example for kids and he demonsrates gr8 sportmanship
i think we should all show him some respect!!!
he's far from being the best centre
and he's no showing much improvement anymore
but a gr8 centre isn't easy to find
(hardest to find among all the position)
Originally posted by hugotkh at 2005-2-5 07:05 PM:

佢打明星賽真係好悶,比O'neal更悶。O'neal都話會搞下氣氛,跑下快攻,不過姚明就好死板。入樽又唔夠勁。 雖然係係好悶,但都係中國人的驕傲~~~ THX~ Yes, Yao Ming is a really great center..
to be honest... how many (all-star) centers in NBA history could shoot so well around 18-20 feet??
I can give you 2 centers, Rik Smits and David Robinson...
He's a good pick-and-roll player too
He does his job really well in team....
Did you see him fighting?
No!
Originally posted by brightlee at 2005-2-10 08:06 PM:

yeah
Yao Ming's stepping up well
he said in an interview couple of days ago that he needs more and better training to improve, i think he's confident that he still has a lot of room to improve, and that's what i believe too...
lets hope he can be the 100 greatest in NBA:D
by the way, can i add Patrick Ewing there of mid range Center, and Sabonis?!? Crap.. yes.. they are too....
I forget them...
I love Sabonis style.. it's really bad to see him when people saw him in 96 ... as he didn't have any speed when he started to play NBA... (I am seriously talking about it)
I saw his performance in Olympics 92... He was slower than what he was.. but he was running faster than what he did in NBA.....
Before his injury-plug... he could be as quick as David Robinson,
then you could guess how great he was... (espeically his 3-pointers, and passing skills)
Ewing was a good center too.
but he's bad that he's behind Hakeem Olajuwon and David Robinson in that generation.......
then when you see deeply, there was another crazy center.. Brad Daugherty... ..... ... was behind them.......

hahahahahaha
r u serious.... Sabonis was as quick as Robinson?!
man i couldnt even imagine about it...
coz i'm 21, when i started watching NBA, it's already early Bulls Dynasty
what i know about the old players at that time is mainly from videos..
and u know, i was too young to understand what great plays/ players are...
like i've missed out Drexler, Barkley and John Starks, as well as the fast Sabonis..
pity...
if Sabonis's fast, i think he would be very good, and useful for the team
i havn't heard of Brad Daugherty though Brad Daugherty, who was the first pick in 86.. by 76ers..
but the poor management in 76ers at that time... they traded him to Cavs.
Then Brad Daugherty, Mark Price and Larry Nance got an great Cavs team in early 90s.
but they couldn't pass through Bulls in early 90s,
then Brad Daugherty got injury and retired in 94
then Larry Nance retired in 95
Mark Price was in injury-plug.. then .. after Brendon was traded... Cavs become one of the worst team in East until they draft LeBorn James....
About Sabonis... yes.. think if Drexler, Sabonis, Terry Porter, Jermone Kersey and Buck Williams would be in lineup... (I think you know the rest of the players.. cos you watched them.. even though they may be getting old when you watched them) It would be a crazy team............
By the way, the first Bulls Dynasty was 91 to 93.. I think what you are talking Bulls Dynasty.. should be the 2nd one, 96-98.... yeah, i was talking about the 2nd one..
with Dennis Rodman that one... (ha.. my favourite player besides A.I., he taught me how to grab a board(from book.............but extremely usefu..l))
"after Brendon was traded... Cavs become one of the worst team in East until they draft LeBorn James.... " what i know is just this part.................................
i think the Portland u mentioned would be a great one,
but i dun have good impression on them since i started watching NBA, coz the team's full of trouble makers........ (Terry Porter should be on T-Wolves in around 96-98, Jemone Kersey, who was in 99 Spurs player) Buck Williams should be in Knicks in 97)
yes, you know them, but they were nearly the end of their career.......
To be honest, I love Dennis Rodman, one of the greatest defensive players in these 20 yrs.
I am seriously talking about it...
Do you think Dennis can guard Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Micahel Jordan, Clyde Drexler, Charles Barkley, then later on in his career, Shawn Kemp, Karl Malone, Shaq O'Neal, Hakeem...?!
except the PG, he could play any position...
The Rodman that you saw... it's not as great as he was....
cos his personail problems......to let him changing to a player you saw in Bull Dynasty,
He was not a bad attutide player before...... haha, i saw Terry Porter played in Miami and Spurs:D
u r right, the Worm's an excellent defender, it's so great to see him play against Shaq.....
and his tip-boards... great skills
besides defence...
he's great to watch man....
i love to see him shoot a 3 or even just take a shot or foul shot......
it really makes me laugh...............
when i check his stats.....
he averged 15+ boards for 7 consecutive years......
highest average was 18.7 in 91-92.. that's many players' career high..........................
i've never watched the Rodman with offence though.. Dennis Rodman shooting skills was better than what you expect.....
I should add a new post for talking this.. wait.... o great
do u needa type chinese? i can give u a hand:D
