All-star Revserves
Finally it's coming out.... I read the lists.. I am surprised by some players in the reserved!West:
Ginobili,
Amare,
Lewis,
Allen,
Marion,
Nash,
Dirk
East,
Arenas,
Jamison,
Z,
J O'Neal,
B Wallace,
Wade,
Pierce
It's really closed to my selctions...
East reserves are DEFINITY OK. (I could say good in this, and can be more balancing in height and power now)
But West.... I am really disappointed for Ginobili in there.......
YES, he's one of the brightest stars in Olympics.. but does he play that good in Spurs? NO!
I would CHOOSE Brand or Gasol in there.
And NO reserves point guard in there in West, West maybe in troubles.....
Well.. I am happy that Lewis in the West....... finally he could be an all-star!!
Also...... 11 yrs later (since 94)... finally this all-star games gets 3 reverse players within same team (Suns) well the selection was quite ordinary...
BRIGHTLEE u r right that the West may be in trouble..
if Nash get foul trouble then the West will be in deep sh;t..
but at the same time the East seems doesn't got much 3 pt. shooters in the squad..
the Wset may play Zone instead....
then the East will be fu.ked up..........(i don't wanna see this happen......)
just hope fast breaks work for the East.....
the best line-up in my view would be:
East: A.I. + James + Carter + O'NEALs
West: Nash + T-Mac + KG + Dirk + Duncan (sacry..............)
my biggest supprise so far is still the return of Grant Hill though...
besides, Bibby didn't get picked is an upset too...
well after all...
the East's still quick while the West's still big........... Yes I agree with u......
East would be in big troubles.. .. if they don't have quickness.....
I think deeply for the reserves in West..
Only Amare couldn't shoot 3 pts..
that mean... it's unlike last few years... East got quickness and long range shooters......
Yes, I love Grant Hill, to be honest... I am pls that he could play in this level ... espeically after injury in 3 yrs... (what? he played 49 games since moving to Orlando except this year?)
Originally posted by brightlee at 2005-2-9 04:17 AM:

haha
what a secure, comfortable n fine paid job.....................
Grant Hill's a great player....
although i didn't like him much when he's shining....
coz at that time i was a supporter of Miami.....
well,u know.... Hill tried to dunk in Zo's face each and every time they meet..............
and that really pissed me off.... haha
but it's alway's like that
u don't recognise how good some players are unless you look back at their performances when they retire or not your enermies anyomre.....
to me... Hill's a good example... Stockton and Larry Johnson as well..
expecially Stockton.......... his passes are just pathetic............
anyway...
for this year's ALL STAR GAME............
to be honost i can't see any chance the East can win up to this moment.................. they have some another examples
David Robinson (6 games in one season, 96-97)
Clyde Drexler (missing 1/2 season after 92 Olympics)
Kevin Willis, (missing all 88-89 season)
of cos.. this one:
Bill Walton!!!!! non-stopping injury to plug this players.
He was out for many seasons after winning the champions in 77.
Then became 6th man of the season in 86
Oops!
[ Last edited by brightlee on 2005-2-9 at 07:28 AM ] isn't it Lakers has 4 all-stars once ?
Shaq - Jones - Van exel - Kobe...not really remember but I do remember Kobe almost collapsed MJ in the game and he was forced on the bench during the 4th quarter
I am glad to see the all-star reserves....coz it seems the NBA has finally passed down the torch to the new generations...
Webber will be the saddest one...at his prime, he has to live under the shadow of KG and TD and he didnt get a ring just becoz of the team injuries in two consecutive years...well...that's life... oh yes.. that's 98 seasons.. I missed that out..
By the way, I still remember the Air-ball from Van Excel in llast mins @4th quad.
Everyone was shocked at that moment.
you know, you never expect an air ball will be happened when you got wide-open.
To be honest, Webber is passing his peak nowadays.....
injury plug him out most of them times..... y no francis?
he play quite good this year and magic also not bad.......
Originally posted by crap at 2005-2-9 04:35 AM:

who is Zo? Zo is Alanzo Mourning....
Before his kidney operation, he was one of the best centers in late 90s man...
the reserves are quit upsetting/disappointing u know...
there's no way that the truth should make it (pierce)
no francis??? no kidd??? what the crap....
bigZ was good...but...not THAT good c'mon
3 suns??? (although, i'm happy that marion got in)...but still c'mon...
2 wizards? (F that crap)
man...
no comment
sth wrong with those fools other there

peace out
SupaCarterFan (o^.^o) quite i meant (haha, quit???) maybe they choose Wade, so no kidd in there....
well, Francis... em.. to be honest, Orlando is not playing really good since Decmeber...
Pierce... if they choose Franics.. no 3 pointer in East... would be more troubles..........!~~~
that's why I think the backup in East is ok..
I am so disapointed for Gino
who about webber?
i think he plays quite well this yearOh what? Zo?
Alonzo Mourning is in the reserve? Oh no..........I respect him, but he is no more an all-star now la ma..... nono
Z is Zydrunas Ilgauskas (clev)
someone was asking who "Zo" was
that's all
haha
mourning's allstar???
he's one of my all time fav.
but getting him there would be too much of a push (this yr)
haha
i wouldn't mind tho
coz then the raps will have an allstar
haha
Originally posted by brightlee at 2005-2-9 07:14 PM:

ohoh
dont' get me wrong
i think wade should start if u ask me (over iverson)
just that i was hoping to see kidd instead of the truth(pierce)...(seriously...why is he an allstar this yr???)
and why 3pt when u can simply post and give it 2 shaq and VC all time??? higher %
inside the paint, that's where u win ball games
man...
shouldn't make the decision base on the month of dec
(although that was why matt bonner didn't get in and J.Smith did for the rookie game)
ginobili's an allstar...just maybe not this yr yet...
is it just me or do u guys agree with me when i say the veterans are not getting enough respect this yr??
again...3 suns??? 2 sonics??? 2 wizards??? c'mon...
now that the reserves are out
i think the east is gonna 2 win em.. Iverson... due to election from us (fans).. well.. you know Wade is not "famous".......
and remember Boston is leading in Atlantic now....
so that's why i think the coaches choose him, rather than Wade/Kidd
To be honest, I would choose Wade... but NOT Z in reserves....
haha... Gino.... as I said, I would choose Brand...... but well.. they want a guard... what can I say?!
team records and market values effect a lot in NBA....
see. that's why Pirece instead Kidd.
that's why no Redd in there....
that's why.... so many good teams get 2 or more players in all-star game..
it's normal!!
you may be disappointed.. but I think Carter wouldn't be playing a lot of times... that's traditional in all-star game.. that's what I see so far....
Don't be upset, to be honest, East has a small chance to win this game...... Maybe the East chose Z for tactics
u see West got 6 players taller than 6"10.. (that the East should have expected)
6"9 Uncle Ben can do the D, but not offence...
so Z is useful for the East as being the tallest offence player ..
and again the prob. of no 3 point shooters is the other team can play Zone D
and that sucks............
coz the East will be trapped in the mid range when attacking
which is the zone with low(er) accuracy
but i think the speed of the East can stop the counter fast breaks from the West.....
otherwise they'll be behind by 20-30 by half time.....
there's small chance for the East..
they need to show great spirit to win (like what they did in '01)
p.s.
let's hope Iverson won't be a bloody passer this year..........
[ Last edited by crap on 2005-2-10 at 07:41 AM ] you are right...!!!
Zone D will kill East... No 3-pointers, no midrange jumper... (except Grant Hill)...
Remember how big for West players... see the starting lineup? Kobe is 6'6, and he's the smallest on the field.....
East will be in big troubles
