Manchester United have poured cold water on reports linking Italy coach Marcello Lippi with a move to Old Trafford.
Reports in sections of the media on Friday suggested Lippi was keen on a new adventure in England, in particular a position under Sir Alex Ferguson at The Red Devils.
Lippi is sure to be focusing his attentions on masterminding Italy's World Cup final challenge, but United have moved to nip talk of his arrival in Manchester in the bud.
"There is no truth in the story about Lippi coming to Old Trafford," read a statement on the club's website.
"We are happy with our coaching set-up."
Carlos Queiroz is Ferguson's number two and it would appear as if the status quo will remain at Old Trafford.

Italy midfielder Gennaro Gattuso claims he is not thinking of his club future, but expects to remain at Milan next term.
Midfield enforcer Gattuso is gearing up for Sunday's World Cup final against France, but he was forced to field questions on his future on Friday.
Milan are one of four Italian clubs who could be relegated to Serie B or below, with prosecutors seeking severe sanctions in the match-fixing trial.
A number of European giants are watching the developments in Italy with interest.
Gattuso has been linked with a move to Manchester United, like Azzurri coach Marcello Lippi, but he expects to stay in Italy with the Rossoneri.
"I am certain that I will remain at AC Milan and that I will play in Serie A next season," said Gattuso.
"If this doesn't happen, then I will talk to the club and hope to remain and finish my career at Milan.
"The press can write whatever they want.
"At this point, I cannot think of another club wanting me or anything else but Sunday's final.
"This game is bigger than myself, I have never expected to be able to play a World Cup final, so all my energy is directed at this."
When asked to comment on the future of Lippi, Gattuso added: "I hope that Lippi stays with us.
"Beside the enormous respect and friendship that I have with him, he is able to get the best out of his players and that's very important for our national team."

SIR ALEX FERGUSON, the Manchester United manager, is preparing a bid to replace Ruud van Nistelrooy with Fernando Torres, the Spain forward who emerged as one of the stars of the World Cup finals.

United’s transfer plans have been thrown into some confusion since it became apparent that Cristiano Ronaldo is pursuing a move to Real, but they maintain that the Portugal winger is going nowhere. By contrast, they are increasingly hopeful of securing a deal for Van Nistelrooy after he fell out of favour with Ferguson last season. Bayern Munich have confirmed their interest in the Holland forward and are believed to be preparing a formal bid, albeit one significantly short of United’s £15 million valuation. Real have also expressed a vague interest.
Negotiations over Carrick have not progressed since United made a second offer of about £12 million three weeks ago, but a breakthrough is expected once Daniel Levy, the Tottenham chairman, returns from holiday. Ferguson hopes to sign a ball-winner to play alongside Carrick in midfield, but after exploring options such as Mahamadou Diarra, Javier Mascherano, Marcos Senna and Didier Zokora — the latter too late to stop him joining Tottenham from Saint-Etienne — uncertainty remains over that position.
United have also inquired about Tomas Kuszczak, the West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper, after allowing Tim Howard to join Everton on loan.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is thought to be close to agreeing a deal to sign Turkish teenage sensation Nuri Sahin from Borussia Dortmund.
The 17-year-old has emerged as one of the finest young midfield players in the Bundesliga, and his goalscoring and playmaking have propelled him into the Turkish national team, where he has also excelled.
Although he is hardly a Roy Keane replacement, Sahin could provide some much-needed skill and craft to a United midfield that has seemed bereft of such qualities in recent months.
Dortmund are loath to lose a player of such quality, but their parlous financial state means that they may have to accept a bid that is lower than their valuation of the player, as they did in the case of Tomas Rosicky.
Rosicky joined Arsenal for a fee of around £7million, and reports suggest that United are looking to acquire Sahin for a similar amount.
