Fortune closes in on Bolton move
Former Manchester United midfielder Quinton Fortune is close to sealing a move to Bolton.The 29-year-old South African left Old Trafford at the end of last season and has been at Bolton's pre-season training camp in Switzerland.
"Quinton would be a top player for us if he stays fit," manager Sam Allardyce told the club website.
"He has committed to our training regime to prove his fitness. I'm hopeful we'll sign him permanently."
Fortune, a midfielder who can also play in defence, joined Manchester United in 1999 for £1.5m from Atletico Madrid.
He made 76 appearances before being released at the end of the season.

THE HAGUE (AFP) - Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has verbally agreed to join Real Madrid on a three-year deal, according to a Dutch press report.
The country''s biggest newspaper De Telegraaf said: "Ruud van Nistelrooy, 30, has come to a verbal agreement with Real Madrid.
The Netherlands international could sign a three-year contract in the Spanish captial.
"Van Nistelrooy is depending on negotiations between Real and his current club Manchester United."
The paper added that United are expecting a transfer fee of 15 million euros (19 million dollars), however van Nistelrooy''s agent refused to confirm the rumour.
"Ruud hopes to publicly state his new club before returning to training with Manchester United on July 24," said Ruud Linse.
