New setback for Saha
Manchester United striker Louis Saha is expected to be out until November after undergoing knee surgery.
Saha missed the close of last season with a knee complaint as his injury-hit Old Trafford career showed no signs of slowing up.
He has now had an operation on his knee in America and his agent Ranko Stojic has confirmed the France international's absence.
Stojic also revealed that there is now no chance of Saha leaving the Premiership champions before the start of next season.
"Louis has had surgery in America and he won't be on the field now for a few months," Stojic told the Manchester Evening News.
"There is no question that he will be changing clubs.
"He's been unlucky and it is very important now that he gets back to 100 per cent fitness.
"I don't know when he will be able to start training again, but he is looking at being back around November or December. But it is going to be a while."
Saha's injury will likely intensify United manager Sir Alex Ferguson's quest to bring a new striker to the club over the summer.
Reports had claimed that Saha could have been used as a makeweight in any deal, or sold to raise additional funds, but the former Fulham ace will now start on another road back to fitness.
SAHA~~~:giveup::giveup::giveup:
Wish you can come back ASAP
HOORAY...Man Utd will probably keep Smithy for coming season~~:clap:
And Man Utd have to sign a new striker now~~
軒斯表示願意留效曼聯
Reds defender Gabriel Heinze insists he's taking no notice of current media speculation linking him with an Old Trafford exit.Instead, the 29-year-old has his sights firmly set on leading Argentina to the final of this year's prestigious Copa America tournament.
"Nobody at United has told me I'm not wanted next season," Heinze told the Sunday Mirror. "I have just enjoyed one of the best years in my career [and the team] played sensationally."
Heinze, who made 38 appearances for the Reds in the 2006/07 campaign, has allegedly attracted interest from some of Europe's premier clubs, including Real Madrid, Juventus and Barcelona.
"I know rumours of transfer offers have appeared, but that's not a problem for me. My head is with the Argentina team and the Copa America."
Argentina face the United States of America in their opening Group C clash on 28 June. United have already spent a reported £50million on bringing Anderson, Nani and Owen Hargreaves to Old Trafford - but will it be the club's final piece of business this summer?
Despite a large outlay for the trio, Reds chief executive David Gill says further funds are available if Sir Alex Ferguson identifies a transfer target. He also acknowledged that, with the defence and midfield well stocked, the Reds are in the market for a striker.
The News of the World immediately linked the Reds with a move for Javier Saviola, while West Ham's Argentina striker Carlos Tevez is also supposedly on United's shortlist, while usual suspects Dimitar Berbatov, Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto'o have all been mentioned, though sky-high fees are likely to put United off.
United join Tevez chase
Carlos Tevez is the new target for big-spending Manchester United. United chief executive David Gill admitted last week the Old Trafford giants want a striker. Alex Ferguson’s champs have already splashed out £47million this summer on Owen Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson. Now they have joined the race for Argentine hitman Tevez, who seems certain to quit West Ham. United linked with keeper
Manchester United have reportedly joined the chase for Independiente goalkeeper Oscar Ustari.
Reports in Argentina suggest United have expressed an interest in the highly-rated keeper and that a club official has travelled to South America to hold talks with Independiente.
Ustari is regarded as one of the best young prospects in South America and has reportedly attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid.
United are now believed to be hoping to steal a march on their rivals by luring Ustari to Old Trafford.
Independiente president Julio Comparada says he has not had any contact with United regarding Ustari, but admitted they could consider any offer for the player.
"I have heard in the radio what has been said about that Manchester United are interested in our goalkeeper but I haven't received any offer yet," Comparada told the Argentine press.
"Maybe someone has got in touch with the player. We aren't doing anything for selling him because we aren't currently in a financial hurry.
"Anyway, if there is a proposal that is very interesting for the player and the club then we will analyse it."
Comparada is aware a number of clubs are chasing Ustari, but he insists Independiente are in no rush to sell their prized asset.
"We know that there are many European teams interested in our keeper but until we receive an official offer we can't say anything," added Comparada.
"And if there is an offer, we will see if we will accept it and if the team interested wants to pay what we want for the player.
"I think that the only way that we could sell Ustari is if it's real that Manchester United wants him because I am sure that any player would like to play there." As I've said in the locked post..........

Most football magazines in HK had stated with no doubt that the contract were signed.....:haha:

from the wikipedia article,
On January 4, 2007 reports emerged claiming he has been signed by FC Barcelona on a pre-contract deal due to begin in July 2007, with the fee believed to be in the region of 10 million Euro. Also, on the June 12, 2007 reports emerged claiming Manchester United have joined the race to sign him.
just a report claiming.....not even confirm by both club's officals~~
that's why I would say he hasn't signed any contract with Barca...~

I dont know....never trust the gossip column..unless it's 100% confirmed by club officals
but Independiente president Julio Comparada was asked about Ustari's future...that means Ustari is still Indepedndiente player...otherwise all the press will ask Barca's president~~
Originally posted by arthur8088 at 2007-6-13 05:49 PM:
