BLATTER'S REDS WARNINGFifa president Sepp Blatter has warned Liverpool that they must travel to Japan in December to take part in the World Club Championship.
The Reds are faced with a daunting fixture list following Uefa's decision to hand them a spot in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.
With Liverpool set to begin their season with a Champions League fixture on July 12 or 13, The Reds are rumoured to be considering ways of culling their taxing schedule.
It is being claimed that the Anfield top brass have been toying with the idea of avoiding a trip to face the South American champions in Fifa's flagship club event in Japan - the Toyota Cup.
Blatter, though, has warned The Reds that they are contractually obliged to make the trip to Japan and is adamant they will fulfil the fixture.
"They must play the Toyota Cup because it is binding to them for 2005," Blatter told the Daily Mail. "The Cup is in Japan and they will have to play.
"Do you think they won't play? They will play."

國際足協主席白禮達重申，利物浦一定要出戰十二月於日本舉行的世界冠軍球會杯。
利物浦在歐洲足協給予出戰下屆歐冠杯的機會後，已經要更改部分已計劃的七月份賽程。
世界冠軍球會杯將於十二月十五及十八日舉行兩場賽事。
「這是他們需要履行的義務。賽事於日本舉行，他們將要越洋作賽。你認為他們不會參加嗎？他們一定要比賽。」白禮達對《每日郵報》表示。
世界冠軍球會杯將有六支球隊出戰，除了利物浦外，也有南美自由杯冠軍及四支來自亞洲、非洲、中美洲及澳洲的球隊。
