REAL MADRID pulled out of the Roy Keane deal amid fears other players would
not like him.
Spanish TV pundit Michael Robinson also reckons Real got cold feet on the
former Manchester United star as he is cup-tied for the Champions League.
Former Liverpool star Robinson said: “I couldn’t understand Real thinking
about Roy Keane until the end of the season and him not being able to play
in the Champions League.
“That somewhat devalued the deal.
“I find it hard to understand a club who sell themselves on the Galacticos
policy — targeting Keane after he has been asked to leave Manchester United
and then not even being able to play in Europe.
“I suppose president Florentino Perez wanted him for his character.
“And Keane would do well at Madrid on a short-term basis with his attitude
to get the players going.
“But it turns out that others don’t seem to like the character of Roy
Keane.
“There have been so many negative things coming out about him.”
