,with a club option for the 2007-08 season. Biedrins played two seasons in the Latvian League with Skonto Riga and averaged 18.0 points and 14.4 rebounds while shooting nearly 62 percent from the floor.

The Warriors hired Russell Turner as the fourth assistant coach on Mike Montgomery's new staff. Turner, an assistant to Montgomery at Stanford for the past three seasons, joins Terry Stotts, Mario Elie and Keith Smart.

Center David Harrison, the last pick in the first round of the June draft, signed a multi-year contract with the Indiana Pacers. Under the NBA's rookie salary scale as the 29th overall pick, Harrison will receive a three-year deal worth at least $2.25 million with a club option for the 2007-08 season. The 7-foot, 285-pound Harrison entered the draft after his junior year at Colorado. He averaged 17.9 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.9 blocks last season and is the school's all-time leader in blocked shots with 225.

Magic will tender a six-year, $39 million offer sheet to restricted free agent Hedo Turkoglu. Turkoglu averaged 9.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.0 steals for the Spurs in 2003-04

The Sacramento Kings signed draft picks Kevin Martin and Ricky Minard on Wednesday. Martin, the 26th overall pick in last month's draft, signed a three-year contract worth $2.34 million, including $726,700 as a rookie. The 6-foot-7 guard averaged 23.3 points last season as a junior at Western Carolina. Minard, the 48th overall selection, is Morehead State's career scoring leader.

Knicks GM Isiah Thomas and Bulls GM John Paxson exchanged trade proposals yesterday for the second time in four days." A "sign-and-trade for Crawford appears to be progressing." Crawford is "looking for a deal in the neighborhood of $7 million and $9 million annually." The Knicks "would prefer to trade Shandon Anderson but will likely be forced to part with Kurt Thomas and perhaps Frank Williams and Othella Harrington."
