oh my external harddisk

when i connect it to the computer.....the computer will be frozen.........sometimes i can manage to see the files in the external but cant open them.....any one can help me plz???

use a converter to use it as internal IDE or SATA,
For normal 2.5" hardisk you need to set jumper.
start your PC see it can be auto detect.
if yes, it should run ok at your windows
then backup file you need and format it.
if no, it may have some strange reading noise came out,
also check cable connection.
or it still cannot connect and still only connect some time,
it will be the problem of the Hardisk PCB
get another one will be a good choice.

What OS you use? WinMe or Win XP
What size the harddisk? 2.5" or 3.5"
Check the power supply to the harddisk
If 3.5" you must sure enough power to it because if not, the harddisk cannot work in order
I also have this problem before.

maybe u cover mini usb got some problem, i have this problem b4, but change the cover all done.

i dont think its the encloser's problem, if it is windows/a OS wont reconize ur external hdd...
i think that ur hdd is broken or something.

If u put the usb in ur computer, will the external hdd make an abnormal sound?

if so, then u can refund ur hdd if u still got the warranty.
and if u dont got that, just throw that piece a sjit away
