Photoshop is mored based for pictures advanced it also gives enough abilitys for editting pics for web pages, but Photoshop elements is more based on websites those who like to add flashy bling blings extras etc, if ur going to make ur own site, i'd say try elements, anyway why dont you download the trial version from their offical site?

Its 14 or 30 days trial, not sure how many days, its diffrent for each softwares.

think i made an mistake, its so that Photoshop is included most things, the photoshop elements is much more like lite version of it.

but to compare the differents i think its better to look it up on www.adobe.com,
would be more informatic and much more clear ; )

PS> as far as i know is that photoshop has a handy tool for gif files editting.
