When I travel Japan (same for France), " N; y* o1 R& v9 ~- ]9 ~
I found that in the train, people avoid to LOOK others with curiorsity.. y  S/ n0 k1 D# N; O/ V
Because their vision can DISTURB other people and it is very IMPOLITE to LOOK at other unknown passengers.

# w% M) q" ?9 G8 J, o9 e7 s& I( JHoweverm I catch MTR/train in HongKong, people dont have this concept at all,5 @  Q3 B  l* s1 s
and I found it very annoying, people just looking around on others.
