for the preliminary interview:

there will be 3 ppl sitting in front of you, (just like a board interview) asking u question relating to current affairs, the government, the immigration department and the reasons why u want to join, and how capable you r to take up that position etc......

for the extended interview:

it's divided into 2 sections,2 i( W0 b  Z& V) t% d( V
1 is impromptu talk
0 C: ?* }6 w) Banother is group discusion
6 \1 K; b! Z; Z! r6 x  k" l: u3 C& b7 l# `) ?8 X. s+ u& {1 k% z
all conducted in english1 f* Q, S0 A7 C0 j9 I5 J, G; ]. D
# @8 |/ K8 E$ F7 u7 l& j) r
impromptu talk requires u to talk on a particular "word" or "picture" which is randomly choosed for 3 minutes with only a few seconds to prepare. o2 a* T+ c  A0 E1 G3 S

& u4 u7 A2 ~  ~, O- N4 Xgroup discusion is just like a normal way of discusion, each candidate has a chance to speak for 1-2 minutes, and after the 1st round, those volunteered candidates can talk for some more times to supplement their points or to refute other ppl's point without coming up with a conclusion  H; P! [% c9 a

3 D7 x& w! P. r( h; X4 ppl sitting in front of you, 1 is secretary only for dropping minutes

the format is just like prelim in, but of course, the requirement to pass is much higher and the questions r much trickier!
