for the preliminary interview:

there will be 3 ppl sitting in front of you, (just like a board interview) asking u question relating to current affairs, the government, the immigration department and the reasons why u want to join, and how capable you r to take up that position etc......

for the extended interview:
, D# o8 e7 L* o( J7 ]7 v( |) u7 H7 X: \" `
it's divided into 2 sections,
' y5 X- z& g7 L% k! E1 is impromptu talk- C6 @4 d4 o' `  _
another is group discusion
4 f# `3 [: k, N" Z1 n8 m5 \8 c
( J% f' E% ~! w7 N: S+ ?- Uall conducted in english3 g" K, t# n  ~$ Z' l, ?
, z( A( k4 Q7 F6 ]* z" N6 j2 ]0 e; S
impromptu talk requires u to talk on a particular "word" or "picture" which is randomly choosed for 3 minutes with only a few seconds to prepare- h6 f. {: U' Z' w  c! c- y: ^

group discusion is just like a normal way of discusion, each candidate has a chance to speak for 1-2 minutes, and after the 1st round, those volunteered candidates can talk for some more times to supplement their points or to refute other ppl's point without coming up with a conclusion* @+ H2 t6 ]) M0 ]3 C0 r- o! Q

0 ~. u1 G% ?# t4 c( f" N4 ppl sitting in front of you, 1 is secretary only for dropping minutes

the format is just like prelim in, but of course, the requirement to pass is much higher and the questions r much trickier!
