8 U8 y2 P A# S4 e. c/ n) Q9 eI touch dead bodies all the time...cancer, surgerical, etc.1 i3 G0 e% q! J) J' ] Y
9 J7 k+ s$ b. [( `1/2 hr after dead, the body will lose the bounce and starting to feel like cold meat. It's kind of disgusting but after a while I am okay with it.; w, s' g! @+ k; z& k

When I touch the deceased, I kept telling myself this is not a person anymore, the person is gone and this (the body) is just the shell. If I know the patient well, I would even quietly say goodbye to him/her before the nurses come and pack him/her up.- d; q+ J$ ^% v2 G( z
. r# V$ W" X% {# v6 N- T; C z
The ones with accidents in the ER are really bad, but we're too busy trying to save him/her to pause and think. |
