i take the bus... 53.... and change to 60.... and arrive to york...% A" O- j8 @3 j* `2 M) A& x! j6 t; b
% `+ t0 B* Q: w, F+ F
around 2 hours drive ~><~....
+ g* r* X8 f# d3 n+ y, w0 @! E$ X4 H: g1 t

if you have someone to drive you to GO station at Kennedy and 407 or up to Town Centre Blvd... it may be faster....

usually a friend of mine goes to GO station at Kennedy and 407 for GO Bus to York University....: A9 B$ a+ v2 B* A  I  X
York Region has a new Bus route from Town Centre Blvd ( Warden and Hwy7) and goes  to York University as the last stop... i don't know the fare of that, because i used to drive myself to York University.....- m) f! z4 P8 M0 t/ k
$ v0 n6 t0 K4 A. w" @5 s9 u
try to look for these method, it may be faster by a bit.... but i am a bit outdated, you better research it....

it shouldn't take you 2 hours to get to York....3 h+ T: n, _9 g+ k2 l
I use the same way as you to get to York too
