2. Dwight Howard, F, Orlando (No. 1)
Stats: 10.4 PPG, 10.1 RPG, 1.1 APG (21.6 PRA)
Upcoming: at Bos. (1/10), at Min. (1/12), at Det. (1/14), at Ind. (1/15)
Breakdown: With 32 NBA games under his belt, will Howard hit the proverbial rookie wall? Last year's top high school player shows no signs of slowing, averaging 9.8 points and 10.0 rebounds over his last five.
3. Luol Deng, G-F, Chicago (No. 7)
Stats: 13.4 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 2.4 APG (21.3 PRA)
Upcoming: vs. G.S. (1/10), vs. Phi. (1/12), vs. N.Y. (1/15)
Breakdown: Eddy Curry and Tyson Chandler have received considerable attention for the turnaround of the Bulls, however the play of the team's rookies -- led by Deng -- can't be overshadowed. Deng is averaging 18.3 points, 7.7 boards and 3.7 assists over the last three -- all Chicago wins.
4. Ben Gordon, G, Chicago (No. 3)
Stats: 13.1 PPG, 2.5 RPG, 1.9 APG (17.5 PRA)
Upcoming: vs. G.S. (1/10), vs. Phi. (1/12), vs. N.Y. (1/15)

5. Andre Iguodala, F, Philadelphia (No. 9)
Stats: 8.5 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 2.6 APG (16.7 PRA)

Upcoming: vs. Mil. (1/11), at Bos. (1/14), vs. Cha. (1/15)
Breakdown: The Hawks are in the midst of a six-game skid, however, Smith continues to develop -- and dunk. Smith collected a season-high 16 points against Sacramento on Jan. 7, including a highlight-reel slam off an Al Harrington lob that appeared out of reach for even the inordinately-athletic 19-year-old.

Breakdown: His New Year's resolution may have read something like this: Rebound! Varejao has grabbed 33 rebounds over the last three games after snagging only 43 for the entire month of December. An upcoming six-game Western Conference trip may tap in to some of that excess energy he's shown recently.
9. Chris Duhon, G, Chicago (No. 38)
Stats: 3.6 PPG, 2.1 RPG, 4.7 APG (10.4 PRA)
Upcoming: vs. G.S. (1/10), vs. Phi. (1/12), vs. N.Y. (1/15)

Sebastian Telfair from Portland is also good, but he doesnt get too much playing time. From the couple minutes taht I saw him play, he doesnt have a jump shot but he is very quick and can drive to the hoop anytime he likes.作者: physics 時間: 2005-2-1 05:37 PM
