1860 年英法聯軍當年入侵中國, 搶劫得來的圓明公園12生肖鼠首和兔首銅像，輾轉流落到已故時裝設計師聖羅蘭（Yves Saint Laurent）手上。他的同性伴侶貝爾熱（ Pierre Berge ）決定拿出來拍賣。2 q0 D( s% ^* a" K/ K% N

這促使中國的「追索圓明園流失文物律師團」委託「歐洲保護中華藝術聯合會」，向巴黎法庭申請禁制拍賣。結果當然輸了更加要向法國法庭支付罰款，真 on9。

原來公園銅頭像那麼值錢, 建議香港政府將現時維園裡英國人最尊敬的'英女王'銅像的「頭」亦切下來拍賣, 增加財政收益。

haha....good point
but soon, i m sure this status will be gone for a specific reason

honestly these status r nothing special in my perspective

1) they r recent creations, how many years is that? 150-200?8 m5 X# c- q" M2 H2 n# J6 q
2) since they r recent creations, i don't see much valuable skills or knowledge applied on these creations
3) again, as 2) mentioned, it seems like a mixture of Chinese and Western art which doesn't really represent Chinese arts( s# N8 e1 e" I1 T0 i$ X
4) they r just copper from recent periods6 C5 N( z' d3 p7 U

just like the porkchops we dont like, however, they do like them very much, otherwise who will take Yan Yee as gf
i wouldn't spend so much money to get them back which is definitely falling into their traps of making money as they know u wanna get them back for dignity

law is always so stupid
apparently there r lots of evidences suggesting it's property of Chinese even though they r not strong proofs. Z E5 c2 f( b1 u" J
however, the current owner also can't even claim they r the legal owner n acquired them in a legal way either, which is just same as the Chinese cannot submit the same documents as well, how can they have the right to sell the status to public in the auction; e* l" S8 ^0 K& Z% i H1 L$ @ U4 `

Well, the way I look at it, the French should just tell the Chinese to make fake ones for themselves. Surely the Chinese won't mind, seeing as they already have so much fake stuff in China. And the Copper Heads aren't even the current PRC's Government anyway. The current PRC Government didn't even exist back then.

Think of it this way. The current PRC Government took over from the Tsing Dynasty just because they wanted the assets of the Imperial Family back then. The statue doesn't even belong to the PRC Government. If it has to be returned to somebody, it would be the descendants of Pui Yee. And, if the PRC Government can just take it back, then the British Museum would have to return all its exhibits to Greece, Italy, Egypt etc and the world would be chaotic.
