The England midfielder has played a central role in Jose Mourinho`s side moving to the brink of their first top-flight title since 1955.
But should the league be won this weekend, and Chelsea edge out Liverpool at Anfield next Tuesday to reach the Champions League final, Lampard might not play another minute domestically until next season.
Chelsea need just a point to be sure of the title which has looked destined for Stamford Bridge since the early games of the campaign, and Mourinho would want Lampard and his other key men fit for the Champions League final on May 25, hence the suggestion that the former West Ham man could miss games against Charlton, Manchester United and Newcastle, breaking a run of what should become 143 consecutive league appearances tomorrow.
"That`s something we will talk about when it happens," said 26-year-old Lampard.
"The manager is aware of my record but I`d rather have the record of winning the league and the Champions League and if he feels it is best to rest then I`ll go along with whatever he says."
Chelsea have doubts over wingers Damien Duff (hamstring) and Arjen Robben (ankle).
