條問題係咁:
香港和台灣的距離，比香港和美國的距離遠，但為何在一般情況下在香港下載台灣網站資料時間比下載美國網站資料的時間長？？？

有冇人可以知點解．．．．

下載資料的快慢受距離的影嚮是很少的,最主要決定於 1 你所用的網絡商有多少傳輸資源接往該地點及2 是直接接往該地或須經很多轉接才到該地,
舉例:
for item 1 你家有兩部電腦上網,一部寬頻100M,一部仍用56K moden,你說那部電腦DL快
for item 2 下午4時, 你由上環坐隧巴經西墜行高速公路往屯門,需要40分鐘,但如沒有西隧巴士,你要坐車往中環,轉車過油麻地,再轉車往中港碼頭,往屯門時不是較遠,但所需時間是不是較快呢

因為......
好多network公司都在hk<->usa之間架有專線
所以data transfers較快較直接
但去台灣...則冇咁多專線
而且亞洲有不少data都係經hk去tw
所以都有一定既network jam
so慢

Traffic is the key
Between HK-USA there are many T3(Very Board Band )line across. Acually, hong kong is the major landing for most lease line across pacific ocean. That is also the reason why phoning IDD to USA is a lot cheaper than other asia country.

Also, your ISP may proxy some of the more popular site (like yahoo).
So when you go to the site, what you get is actually a copy of the site that sit inside your ISP's network.

All ISPs use proxies(transparent ones)... but I do not think this is the answer. The previous answer(more links with greater bandwidth between USA and HK) is the key.

因為台灣係要經外國proxy

可能ISP的國外專線無TW份, 去TW 0既就要先經USA (for example), 咁會令去USA0既Transport比去TW0既快(以前上大陸網慢就係呢個緣故, 無Direct Connection)<--Secnerio 1
又可能去TW條線的Bandwidth不如去USA果條, 如果Connections 一樣, 去美國梗快過去台灣了 <-- Secnerio 2
