Owen agrees Magpies move

Michael Owen has agreed to join Newcastle after holding talks with The Magpies and former club Liverpool.

The Real Madrid star held filter-004ions with Newcastle and Liverpool on Monday and he has now agreed a four-year deal at St James' Park.

Owen is currently undergoing a medical on Tyneside and he successfully comes through that he will become the club's new record signing.

The England international's future has been the subject of intense speculation all summer with Real Madrid bringing in Brazilian duo Robinho and Julio Baptista.

Owen had been worried about his international ambitions if he was not going to be playing regularly at Real and he decided that he needed to leave the Spanish club to safeguard his England place ahead of next summer's World Cup.

The news is a massive boost for Newcastle boss Graeme Souness following his side's dismal start to the season which has seen Newcastle fail to win a game and score a goal this season.

Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd hailed the signing of Owen as one of his proudest moments at the club.

"Bringing Michael to St. James' Park will rank alongside the signing of Alan Shearer as my proudest moment at Newcastle United," Shepherd told the club's official website.

"Newcastle fans love centre-forwards and Michael is a fantastic goalscorer. He's someone we would love to build the team around and we hope he can help us bring success to the club."

Owen should make his debut against Fulham in two weeks should he put the finishing touches to his move.

Oh.......i think this is a good deal.....
i finally can see Shearer partner with Owen again since 1998 World Cup

奧雲都叫可以加強下前線嘅攻力呀
講真，紐記嘅前線原本真係唔多掂，無乜板斧入波
淨係得個舒利亞，但係佢真係老咗，無咗以前 d 活力 . . . 上個兩場見佢控住個波都搵唔到 partner support ，要屈 corner
艾美奧比又無料到，無速度又無腳法 . . . 最重要係佢成日都好似喺球場發白日夢咁 . . .
加個盧基 & 奧雲 + 舒利亞，技術、速度、射術都齊，都叫入返 d 波抵銷下失波嘛

This may not happen. In last match, Luque was tactically selected as a Left-Midfield but played as a striker with Shearer.Since Ameobi was on the field, Luque was still involved in most of offence.
Now, Shearer + Owen, Shearer can do his Strength----Setting and heading balls to Owen and Luque.The only thing he needs to do is setting and/or running to the restricted area to score. He doesnt have to run to the side to make a cross pass.Thus, he could spend less energy~~~Like Teddy Sheringham in West Ham~~almost, 40, but he still can keep his highly-rated performance on the pitch~~~

我係話佢响英超喎!!
實質佢之前兩屆踼英超都己經有啲十吓十吓甘啦.......
佢响西甲係唔差的......
但佢响英超......真係冇當年十八九歲之勇啦!
利記之前都毫不猶豫放佢去啦!
(佢根本响英超都己唔值錢, 唔明點解仲會有球會爭......走咗下坡既球員唔通下下都諗邌佢層幾何時幾勁幾勁甘咩!)
英超真係唔係人人踼得掂, 行軍快嘛....
好多好波既一踼英超都唔掂啦.......
