This is a shirt design that is now virtually impossible to find. It comes from the 1972 season when Leicester wore white shirts as their home kit for the first and only season. The number 10 was worn by Frank Worthington during this year, but the previous owner believed it was worn by Alan Birchenall and so has got him to sign it. One day I hope to get Frank Worthington to sign it also. The shirt has many pulls and one rip across the chest.作者: michaelyip.com 時間: 2005-9-11 02:40 AM

The shirts in the seventies were always put to good use and I would say that if you get a shirt from that era, it is more likely to have been worn, yet if you get a shirt from todays generation, there is a high chance it is just match issued. So to get a shirt from the seventies you really have a shirt with a great history of it being played in.
This is an extremely rare Leicester away shirt. During 1972/3 Leicester wore white at home and blue away. If any Leicester fans are reading this they would automatically think this was worn by the great Keith Weller. Keith actually wore number 9 this particular season and so this shirt would have been worn in matches by John Farrington, who was a little less glamourous. I was told through the original owner that Keith gave this shirt to the tea lady at the training ground. This I believe and my thoughts are that in season 1973/74 Keith would have worn this for training. In the seventies, the shirts that were played in for one season, were then used as training tops the following season. I don't know about other clubs, but this was definately the case at Leicester. So although I cannot be 100% sure, I believe this shirt would have been worn by John Farrington during 1972 season, then in training by Keith Weller the following season when Keith was given the number 7 shirt.作者: michaelyip.com 時間: 2005-9-11 02:42 AM

This is another fantastic match worn shirt from the 70's / 80's. These shirts are extremely hard to find, but well worth keeping if you can get one. Thicker material than the replicas, different size tags, and those wonderful embroidered badges.
This shirt would have been worn by Larry May, who was a great player for Leicester and scored the vital goal at Orient when we were crowned Division 2 Champions under the great Jock Wallace.作者: michaelyip.com 時間: 2005-9-11 02:44 AM

Extremely rare green "unlucky" shirt. Leicester City never won a game in this kit. As well as the shirt being rare, it was worn by Gary Lineker which makes it as special as a shirt could possibly be.
Leicester actually played in two versions of this shirt. The first version had the Ind Coope incorporated into the pattern. The second version (this one) had the Ind Coope Logo transfered on. The number on the back is made of cloth. A wonderful very rare shirt. Do you also remember Ind Coope bitter, it was a superb drink, which is now harder to find than these shirts. It was a superb pint. And if you fancied something stronger, there was Burton bitter, which was generally located at the pump next to the Ind Coope. Those were the days.作者: michaelyip.com 時間: 2005-9-11 02:50 AM

This shirt would have been worn by Mark Bright, but also Tony Sealy and the first black player to play for England - Laurie Cunningham. Laurie came to Leicester on loan, I believe from Real Madrid and so I am pleased to have a shirt worn by such a great player.
The shirt has an Admiral logo included in the silk number. I very much doubt this shirt was available as a replica, but I am 100% sure a long sleeved version would definately not been produced as a replica. It has a great history to it this shirt, but it really is a horrible shirt, like a few Leicester had during this period.作者: michaelyip.com 時間: 2005-9-11 02:54 AM

This shirt was obtained from another collector from Leicester who is lucky enough to own a superb collection. This shirt would have been worn in the second half of season 1889/90, when for some reason Leicester changed the design slightly for just the second half of the season. Instead of a Leicester badge in the centre of the shirt, the badge was embroidered onto the left breast, with the scoreline badge being put on the right. This shirt would have been worn by Gary Mills, Richard Smith, Gary Fitzpatrick, Tony James and the late Marc North.作者: michaelyip.com 時間: 2005-9-11 03:01 AM

Although David kelly wore this shirt for the Ipswich game, it will have already been worn by Mark North and Ricky Hill. It is so rare as it would not have been made as a replica, apart from about 6 shirts that were put in the club after the kitman had taken what he needed to make up the players shirts. This is a true fact, the club did put those six or so shirts up for sale in the club shop.作者: michaelyip.com 時間: 2005-9-11 03:03 AM

This is a player shirt for the 1992/4 season, which is identified by the fact that the badges are embroidered, it has the correct style numbers that were not available on replicas at the time, and it does not have a size tag in the collar. This was from the play off semi final second leg v Stoke played on 15th May 1996. This was a great game to watch and I was right behind the goal when Gary Parker lashed in the winner, running to the fans behind the goal to celebrate. His goal took us to Wembley where we then secured a win to take us to the Premiership. At the end of the game he threw his shirt into the crowd and here it is.

This is the match worn shirt of the Captain of the Winners of Euro 2004. This is Greece player Theo Zagorakis match worn shirt from his days at Leicester. Theo was unfortunate at Leicester as we had a few seasons of Izzet, Lennon and Savage in the midfield and so he was more often than not substitute.
Not a particullly great shirt, but it is the long sleeved version and has the blue numbers on the back that were not available in the club shop. The main attraction of this shirt is that it was worn by Theo.作者: michaelyip.com 時間: 2005-9-11 03:14 AM

Match worn and signed by Robbie Savage. He was great for us and even though he has moved on, he will remain a player we will never forget for what he did for us. As daft as it sounds, my greatest memory I have of Sav is when we were two nil down against Fulham in the quarter final of the Worthington Cup. We were dead and burried and playing badly and there was nothing left in the tank, we had ran out of ideas and energy. The Fulham left back was just sitting on the ball near the corner flag with no-one around him. Suddenly Sav ran towards him, but really he didn't stand a chance of getting it as he started his run from about the centre circle. Just as the Fulham player went to clear it, Sav just managed to get a foot to it and it went out for a throw in. It didn't lead to a goal. We didn't even get the throw in, but it gave us heart, He showed he wanted it, he showed the crowd he was still trying. The crowd responded and so did the players. He tried when others did not want to. We somehow managed to get a draw and win on penalties, and I honsetly believe we only did it when Sav showed both the crowd and his team mates that he wanted to win, despite everything going against us. Thanks Sav, you were brilliant for us. Is this shirt for sale?? What do you think?? Priceless, not a chance.作者: michaelyip.com 時間: 2005-9-11 03:15 AM

This shirt was worn by the Leicester Icelandic star Annar Gunnlaugsson, who had a canny knack of scoring spectacular goals. This shirt is huge and he was only a small fella, so I think the kitman picked a very large shirt for him as it would have been the only one that he could have fitted his long name on.
This shirt does not carry a size tag and has a much smaller Fox Leisure badge, which are the two main points that make it different to the replica shirts. Players shirts were also made of material that was a little more heavy weight.作者: michaelyip.com 時間: 2005-9-11 03:17 AM

This shirt is massive. I can't remember Big Daddy playing for Leicester, but he must have during season 1999/2000 under the guise of Dudfield. This shirt was either issued or bench worn as Duddfield never played for Leicester in the white shirt.
It is a very nice shirt, with the blue numbers that were not available as a replica. It also has the smaller fox leisure badge and does not have the size tag. Both these points seperate it from the replica. Somehow I wish it had a size tag, because I would love to know what size it is. Something like XXXXXXXXL would be appropriate. If I was to sell this I would need alot of money for it as there is so much material involved in it. Laurie Dudfield plays for Southend I think. Check him out, he's the big fella who plays up front.作者: michaelyip.com 時間: 2005-9-11 03:20 AM

This is an excellent shirt to have as it does not have the Premiership badges on the sleeves, nor does it have the Premiership logo in the numbers. Another rare shirt. Due to the fact Leicester were in administration during season 2002/3, the players were not allowed to take shirts away with them, or swap them at the end of games. I only managed to get this shirt as Matt left before the start of the season, thus rendering this shirt useless. Very very rare shirt. This shirt was worn by Danny in one game only. Well in fact for one half a game. Leicester City wore "poppy" shirts for the Sunderland fixture for poppy day. there was only one produced for each player and as Danny changes shirts at half time, this shirt was worn in the first half, with him wearing a normal shirt in the second half.
This shirt came direct off the players back and remains unwashed to the day. I put Danny in the same bracket as Figo and Hasselbaink.
