Louis Saha is aware he is under pressure to keep scoring in order to retain his place in United's starting line-up.
With Wayne Rooney almost back from suspension, Alan Smith returning from injury and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Giuseppe Rossi waiting in the wings, Saha knows there is a strong rivalry for striking berths.
"Things can go very fast," he said. "If I'm not good enough someone will take my place. If I'm good I try to hold on to my status and work hard. Competition always makes you progress."
The French striker, who has two goals from three starts this season, admits that he will be given more action as a result of Ruud van Nistelrooy's departure.
However, he remains adamant that his approach and commitment will not be affected by the Dutchman's sale.
He said: "His departure will certainly allow me to play a bit more and I take Sir Alex Ferguson's trust as a compliment, but I have always done my best whether Ruud is there or not. Nothing has changed for me." |
