Ian Harte is starting to play left back for his career, he doesn't change his position....

Some players are changed their position (even in long time. like Finnan from Liverpool... remember he was playing in Right back
when he's in Liverpool, the manager tries to put him to play right midfield, but that is unsucessful)

that's why in this moment, my personal ideas........ David Beckham may not able to change his position nowadays.

He needs some fast wing back/right back to help him

He could hold the defend for a short time when his partner (wing back/right back) to move upfront.... and cross the ball, but he couldn't stay too long in there due to his weakness.

some players... his skills or his ability is moving down.......

But why the football club still sign him a new contract?
there should be some reasons in there........

look at Dennis Bergkamp this year............

How many games does he play this season??

i.e. I am not saying Del Pirio is worth that this BIG contract......

but I agree with Ching Yeung, the contract is too BIG, he's not worth for this kind of income

but for my memory, he didn't play it well for right back (if he's staying in this position for a long time)
it's similar situation as Freddie Ljungberg was playing @ right back sometimes this season.....
