first of all, those we caused this mess are pretty much bankrupt. Second of all, Congress is their  friend. Congress is the people who are helping them. I would've done with the UK is doing, use the money to buy stocks are banks still standing. Let them not fail. Instead of throwing free money out in the open and forcing normal people to compete with that, buy the stock, put it into cash flow into the market so the people will JOIN IN instead of pulling out.

Secondly, the American Dollar is backed up by credit, if the last couple of banks fail, as Paulson has warned, then filter-038, the USD will be worthless. That is why we must protect the last few banks, they are the final line of defense. Instead, the US gov't just throws the money feeding the parasites that not only caused the problem, but is also making the problem worse. The 700 billion didn't help anyone, why? Because the market is connected worldwide, 700 billion any gov't currency is not enough to run the world. What we HAVE TO DO is PROTECT THIS COUNTRY. We have to make sure that the money is still worth something, make sure that our economy does not take a final plunge. And neither Congress nor the Federal Reserve has shone any ability or plan in order to do that. All they've done is just got all the money out of the treasury and split it amongst themselves.

How do they justify it. There is no justification to it. All they say is "this is a whole hell lot of money, just believe us" This is why there is market panic. They are not coming out saying "this is what we are going to do, this is how it's done" They're just saying "We believe it is right, and therefore it MUST be right and it will be right" They are using very very vague terms to cover up their incompetency.

Well that's one way of thinking, unless you know about philosophical skepticism. In order to know things, we must first observe them. Observations can be done personally or by proxy, through books or tv or hearsay. The problem with that is, it relies on physical senses, and it is too easily tricked. How do we know that our brains are not in a little tiny vat that's constantly stimulating us?

Of course, KNOWING also means that we have a belief in something and it is justified. It does not mean we are RIGHT. There is a difference between right and knowing. In order to know something, we must believe in it, that's it. In order to be right, it must be proven right, and the tricky part is, can something be always right? That's a hard question, something may be right let's say 100 years ago, and then heck, technology advances, and whatever "it" is, it is no longer right.

Somethings are more readily acceptable to be right, such as 1+1=2, that's right. However, if you go around telling people about the string theory, people might go "wtf?"
