Comment A fresh formation and a fresh left-back. Mourinho chooses to start with a four-man midfield with wingers pushing forward. It was a shape last seen in the opening league match against Man City last season. Ben-Haim is tried a left-back for the first time. As in the previous two games, Chelsea's second-half is the stronger but that is not to devalue the first-half's effect of softening up the opponents. Beckham's super-hyped LA Galaxy debut is 15 minutes from the bench but the crowd make the most of his every touch and wince when he comes off worse from a Sidwell challenge.
