Jonathan Woodgate believes Real Madrid have lost a great player in Michael Owen, but have filled the void superbly.
Owen impressed during his one season at El Santiago Bernabeu before making his return to The Premiership with Newcastle before the transfer deadline.
The England international has two goals in three league games for The Magpies, but in Robinho and Julio Baptista, Woody believes Real have the ideal replacements.
"He is a great player and could play in any team in the world," Woodgate told Punto Radio.
"Newcastle have signed a fantastic player, but Real Madrid have also signed great players for Michael Owen's position.
"Owen scored a lot of goals for us last season, but I think we can replace him this season and that we will continue to score goals with the new players
