The first week with braces is the most miserable ... only soft food or fluid is possible since the teeth are too irritable/painful to chew food. You can prepare some congee, steamed fish or minced beef/pork for your wife. In addition, fruits like pear or apple are yet too hard to chew at this time. From the second week it will be much better.0 y! w. E6 |: S- d& V3 \# o

3 D! ~8 B' h$ {+ r* wI guess your wife will probably visit the orthodontist once a month for alignment. It is expected to be painful for a couple days after each visit. Again you can prepare some soft food and remind Mrs. 728 that no rush in eating the food.

From my experience, a bit pain after each visit is inevitable during the process of alignment. However, one will get used to it and it will be better as the teeth is getting closer to perfect alignment.1 {  @, W/ i" e& z8 F0 @
