英格蘭足總決定就摩連奴在英格蘭聯賽盃四強賽後發出不當言論而被罰款5,000 英鎊。

摩連奴批評費格遜在該場賽事半場休息時向球証巴利傾談，圖影響球証判決。

摩連奴使用「欺騙」兩字形容該場賽事的下半場的判決對車路士不利，故此足總認為摩連奴行為不當而展開調查。

車路士最近多次事件均受到足總及歐洲足協關注，當中在歐冠杯十六強首回合作客巴塞隆拿一役半場休息時在球員通道內的事件，足協己著手調查; 而在次回合賽後巴塞隆拿球員和車路士職員發生的衝突事件亦在調查當中。

不過，伊圖疑受到種族歧視事件卻得到平息，而英格蘭足總亦不會就聯賽杯決賽摩連奴被逐一事追究。

I am not saying he was a good manager....
(I looked at Man Utd since 1986, and I was fans in Man utd before)
and what I am saying about... it's not Man Utd couldn't get the champion, to blame him, problem in Man Utd now, is team spirit.....

but he's not good as he was nowadays.......
