Solskjaer May Be Handed Place On The Bench
Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be handed a place on the bench during United's festive run of four games in eight days.
The Norwegian has come through two run-outs with the Reserves in recent weeks and, according to the United boss, has been "training very well" with the first team squad since returning from his long lay-off with a knee injury.
With the Reserves not in action again until the middle of January, Fergie confirmed that Solskjaer could be back in the squad over the hectic Christmas period.
"It's possible," the Reds boss told reporters at his press briefing. "He's trained every day since he came back and has been doing very well.
"It's unfortunate that the Reserves don't play again until the middle of next month because he could have done with a Reserve game this week. But hopefully we'll get him a bit of football in the next couple of weeks.
"We've got four games in eight days and I would think that all the squad players will be involved at some point."
"Ole's been training well and I'd expect all the players to be involved at some point over Christmas."

The Reds kick-off their Christmas fixtures with the visit of West Brom on Boxing Day.
United have already tasted victory over Bryan Robson's side this season, after knocking them out of the Carling Cup with a 3-1 win last month.
While Fergie believes that result will have no bearing on Monday's clash, he remains confident his side will provide the fans with some Christmas cheer.
"You've got to be confident going into the Christmas period," he insisted. "I've been very happy with the form of the team and all the players have been playing well too.
"You only get that good form with consistent results and we've been getting those results in recent weeks.
"Hopefully we can keep all the players fresh and fit and keep our good form going." |
