據報導，費格迅在南非的新聞發報會上向記者表示，現在曼聯的球員已經老了，所以需要注入新血以保持紅魔鬼的實力。而現在我們已經開始加入新血中，我希望能用五年時間去創造新一代紅魔鬼，而在來南非這隊曼聯裏會有五名球員是我們重點培訓的目標。

他們包括羅斯、門將霍斯特、大衛瓊斯、巴德斯及董方卓，而羅斯他擁有很高的潛質，而在這五名球員中我最喜歡的球員有巴德斯及門將霍斯特。雖然我對董方卓現在的實力也算滿意，但他距離我要求的目標還差一段距離，所以我們會重點培訓他，希望他能迅速成長起來。

而包括傑斯、加力利維爾、史高斯等老將亦會在這段時間幫助他們取得更多的經驗及加快成長的速度。

Atletico Madrid have denied speculation that Spanish striker Fernando Torres is on his way to United.

Sir Alex Ferguson has been strongly linked with a big-money move for the forward - nicknamed El Nino - since revealing that Ruud van Nistelrooy is set to depart the club.

However, Madrid Director General Miguel Angel Gil told Sky Sports' website: "I do not speak about the rumours in the press, but I would reiterate that Fernando Torres is not for sale. Not for all the money in the world."

New Atletico coach Javier Aguirre echoed Gil's sentiments, insisting that Torres is in his plans for the coming campaign.

He said: "The club has told me that El Nino will play this season with us. I am preparing all our schemes with his presence in Atletico."
