Google CEO: 我們不會推出Nexus Two

當然，我相信 Google 在推出 Nexus One 的時候，不論是在命名還是在邀請 Motorola 在 Nexus One 發佈會站台的時候，應該是有打算推出 Nexus Two 的。但面對 Nexus One 銷售不理想，加上來自電訊商及其他手機生產商的壓力，令 Google 打消推出 Nexus Two 的念頭也合理。[/size][/font]
[font=inherit][size=12px]Google CEO 指出，當初他們推出 Nexus One 的時候是希望把智能手機的硬件規格推前。明顯，Google Nexus One 的誕生已經成功達到這個目的。而目前，包括 HTC EVO 4G、Motorola Droid X 及 Samsung Galaxy S 等，Google 認為已經沒有推出 Nexus Two 的必要了。[/size][/font]

[indent][font=inherit][size=12px]The idea a year and a half ago was to do the Nexus One to try to move the phone platform hardware business forward. It clearly did. It was so successful, we didn’t have to do a second one. We would view that as positive but people criticized us heavily for that. I called up the board and said: ‘Ok, it worked. Congratulations – we’re stopping’. We like that flexibility, we think that flexibility is characteristic of nimbleness at our scale.[/size][/font]
[/indent][font=inherit][size=12px]當然，Google 不打算推出 Nexus Two 的確會令不少正等待的用家失望。不過，也應該這樣看，Google 放棄銷售手機，把注意力放在改善系統方面，最後獲益的都會是 Android 手機的用戶。[/size][/font]
