it is not testing your soccer knowlegde, how to setup a great team with some restriction..... and knowing the player who could be fitted in the formation/system with their growing up stage/

following Brightlee's England based, this is a Italy based team.........
Buffon (25)
Thuram(28) Nesta (26) Desailly(32) Maldini (33)
Gattuso(25) Veron (25) Davids(27)
Zola (33) Del Piero (23)
Inzaghi(28)
The chemistry is like this....
same as Brightlee's team, they all hv the same language
well.. i'd say its just for fun more than really form the strongest team ever....
u can see that except the defenders, the team is a short one...
the idea is this...
these 4 defenders can stop almost every attack, Thuram and Maldini were no doubt 2 of the best full back of the late 90s and early 00s, Nesta's one of the best defender nowadays, while Desailly's ability is proven by the world cup 98 and euro 2000 he won
besides defending, maldini and Thuram can assist as well.
in mid field, i really love to see Gattuso and Davids(still young, aged 27) running across the pitch for 90 minutes non-stop... and crashing ppl onto the sky....
and then Veron's accurate long passes are crucial for counter attack
when the ball's up front, Zola and the GOLDEN Del Piero can hold up ball, through pass as well as dribble....
Inzaghi is one of the best offside player at that age, with great finishing... and fabulous passes from Veron, Zola and Del Piero got a great target....

crap, by no means I am critcizing your lineup as I really don't know much about soccer. I just want to know your opinion if we used Ruud Gullit (26) replacing Veron (25) and Marco van Basten (24) replacing Inzaghi (28). Gullit does speak English but I am not sure about van Basten though. :P

Perosnally, I think Pat is better than Roy, at least his temperment is better than Roy, but if you talk about team chemistry, there will be another story...
Chris Waddle was is in peak when he was about 30, cos he should got the UEFA championship with Marsaille that year (but the team is corrupted so they were banded by UEFA at the end)....
also, he was playing in Bryan Robson in England International, so it could be ok for team chemistry.

also, he could transform from an OLD ENGLISH LINEUP... (Dixon, Bould, Keown, Adams, Winterburn) to a new, young starting 4 at the back... Well, last match (Lauren, 28, Toure 23, Senderos, 20, A. Cole 23)

he was one of the best strikers, but if you put him in Italian team.. sorry, i don't believe this would work, as he started to got injury when he played with AC Milan.. and then finished his career in there without playing many matches

yeah, Wenger's really great, i'd always hope Chelsea could get a great manager like that when Ranieri was still in charge, and now a great one has finally arrived, but his mouth never shuts.................
