Liverpool may face a battle to keep hold of manager Rafael Benitez in the summer, as renewed reports in the English media claim both Real Madrid and Internazionale are continuing their pursuit of the Spaniard.
Benitez is believed to be frustrated at Liverpool's restricted spending power and reputedly desires a transfer budget of around £30 million if he is to continue his successful project at Anfield.
The Spaniard has made a huge impact since arriving in English football in 2004, with last season's UEFA Champions League victory the pinnacle of his achievements.
Benitez has also reinvented The Reds as a Premiership force and his performance has caught the eye of big-spenders Real Madrid and Inter.
The Liga giants have already employed Benitez as a coach in the past, and are reportedly maintaining their long-standing interest despite the recent resignation of president Florentino Perez.
Inter supremo Massimo Moratti, who has previously denied having any interest in Benitez, is also believed to be keen on the Reds boss should he opt to part ways with current incumbent Roberto Mancini at the end of the current campaign.
Benitez has always publicly maintained he has no desire to leave Anfield, and is still in the hunt for both the UEFA Champions League and FA Cup this season with the Premiership side.
However reports indicate that The Reds will have to spend big in the summer if they are to persuade their manager to stay - with a world class right winger top of the wish list.
