Chelsea expect to finalise the £27million signing of Lyon midfielder Michael Essien in the next 48 hours after the player forced president Jean-Michael Aulas back to the negotiating table.
As revealed exclusively by PA Sport yesterday, Chelsea have remained in dialogue with Lyon despite Aulas' previous claim that the proposed transfer was dead.
PA Sport can now reveal that it was Essien who presented Aulas with no option but to reconsider his position after saying he would not sign any new contract they offered.
The Frenchman had hoped to keep the Ghanaian international midfielder with a massive pay increase on a long-term contract but Essien told Aulas he would not even filter-004 such a deal.
Essien's brutal rebuttal forced Aulas to pick up the phone and call Chelsea's billionaire owner Roman Abramovich, who is holidaying in St Tropez.
Abramovich then agreed to meet Aulas to filter-004 Essien's £27m transfer with the full backing of Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon 27m...=.=

雖然車仔經常用好多錢買球員,但係唔可以話佢地用錢買冠軍~人地有實力先至會攞到冠軍啫:o
