Rio suffers injury blow



Rio Ferdinand could sit out next weekend's international action after suffering a suspected broken toe against Watford.

The United centre-back ended the game with a heavy limp after suffering the knock in the latter stages of the 2-1 win.

Sir Alex Ferguson told MUTV: "Rio Ferdinand's got a broken toe so I don't think he'll be going (away on international duty).

"We'll send him for a scan in the morning, but it looks as if he's got a broken toe."

Ferdinand had been named in Steve McClaren's squad to face Andorra and Macedonia on September 2 and 6 respectively, but he now looks set to sit out the ties.

He is likely to join Gary Neville on the sidelines, leaving Wes Brown, Michael Carrick, Kieran Richardson and the out-on-loan Ben Foster as United's representatives in the England camp.

Rio 應該無事啦！

Rio Ferdinand has been cleared to link up with the England squad for their Euro 2008 double-header with Andorra and Macedonia.

It was feared the 28-year-old had broken a toe in Manchester United's Premiership win over Watford on Saturday and would therefore miss Steve McClaren's first competitive game in charge of the national side.

However, a scan yesterday suggested there was only bruising rather than a break and further examination this morning has left United's medical staff able to pass Ferdinand onto their England counterparts.


The news will be a major boost for McClaren, who faced the prospect of having to re-jig his defence for the Andorra and more hazardous Macedonia games.

Although the former West Ham player will still need his fitness assessed before being given the all clear to start Saturday's Old Trafford encounter, United are much more relaxed about the situation now McClaren is in charge.

Confirmation that Ferdinand will not be out of action for up to six weeks, as had been feared, also represents a real boost for United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

United have started the season on top form, as they currently head the Premiership after winning their first three games.

But Ferguson has been only too aware his side made a similar start 12 months ago, only to see their hopes of challenging Chelsea undermined by a series of long-term injuries, which so far this year they have managed to avoid.

Juventus' stars are not sold in a cheap price...Thuram,Fabio, Emersen are all 33, that's why they are sold at a cheap price....like 3M for Thuram~~ Let's have a look on Zlatan and Zambrota, they are all sold at 26M euros(not too sure on him, ) and 15M euros......

但查斯古特都唔細..
加上佢狀態又唔真係太好..相比下伊巴都唔駛咁貴.
佢既打法同雲佬有d似...既然曼聯改變打法..
做咩又要買番個類似雲佬打法既回來..

當然...17m呢個價...真係高左

I'm not too sure about Trezquet now...possible that's only a rumour...as AIG decided to sign ENGLISH players only or a big-name star......that's why Man U didnt sign Senna...
