hm make sure u have the latest driver update, because it might be a bug of the company "Gigabyte" anyway i never used gigabyte hardware before but their software is ok la, not better then Asus motherboards etc ^_^".
if u are not sure if u have the newest driver for it, go to http://www.driveragent.com and run the scan, allow the ActiveX first before u can proceed the scan.

ow and if u already have the best/newest driver for it, also check the chipset driver version, make sure u got it updated to the newest version (dont use beta versions, they are NEVER 100% stable working)
Solution 1 ==> Still not working?? go to control panel and then go to sytem and go to device manager then check if there are any conflicts with ur drivers.
Solution 2 ==> Check the audio/sound settings configurations.
Solution 3 ==> Use another sound software.

for updating the drivers of ur mainboard u can download from here, ive searched for u
The website driveragent.com is only for driver check, u cant download it from that site because u have to be a member to download it from there, unless u have an premium account on there =D
But u can download them manually by searching it by urself with a searchengine website, eg google yahoo msn etc.
for searching legit/legal sound managing softwares u can try searching at http://www.download.com

ow, i didnt saw the bios question, the differents about higher/newer bios = that the next comming new one is that they can support something that a previously version couldn't and the new version can, or eitehr bug report, this is why there are bios revs.
Example:
GA-965P-DS3 Rev. 1.0 =-> VERY OLD
GA-965P-DS3 Rev. 2.0 =-> LITTLE OLD
GA-965P-DS3 Rev. 3.3 =-> NEWEST
as the info above says that GA-965P-DS3 rev. 3.3 is because he can support Pentium D processor (stabler) , supports Microsoft Vista Premium, as the version 1.0 couldnt, this is same to the 2.0 version. Also GA-965P-DS3 rev. 3.3 support Intel Core 2 Duo processor with FSB 1333, as the previous 2 versions coulnt/not stable support it.

BTW=> GA-965P-DS3 has 8 Audio Channel and not 6
If u are sure that u only have 6 Audio channel instead of 8 then i think u got a wrong motherboard/mainboard or the chipsets on the mainboard are fked up
then u MUST bring it back for refund. or New/Better motherboard trade =)
