i think the term web 2.0 was largely mentioned from the book "the wold is flat", which is basically means open sources web activities. Such as, facebook, wikipedia, other weblogs. The idea behind this was quite vage (personally I dont buy this term). Also, without boardband connection, it was impossible to step forward to web 2.0 since it was largly base on collaberation....
Tho, theres a book i really like is call the long tail, which has a pretty good filter-004ion on how does this technology impact us.
