Carrick rocked by injury woe

MICHAEL CARRICK has been rocked by a bitter injury blow.

Manchester United’s England midfielder could be out for up to a month after damaging ankle ligaments.

And that is a massive title setback for boss Alex Ferguson, whose Premiership table-toppers have come under real pressure from rivals Chelsea.

Injury-prone Carrick, 25, picked up the knock in last Sunday’s shock 1-0 defeat at West Ham, which left United just two points clear.

The Old Trafford medical team originally thought he would be fit in time for today’s crunch clash with Aston Villa.


But the Geordie will now undergo a series of scans at their Carrington training HQ to determine the full extent of the damage.

Ironically, the problem could provide the perfect bargaining chip for Fergie to persuade the board to make a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Owen Hargreaves, 25, in the transfer window.

The Germans are prepared to listen to offers for the England ace — but not until the summer.

A United insider said: “Carrick’s injury is a real blow for the lad and United.

Fergusson讓朗尼休息，但Carrick，因為然後被傷害缺席，但根據Fergusson透露了Carrick沒有重大問題： 「昨天Carrick的已經做了輕微的訓練，在這檢查之前叫他要缺席一個星期，但下個星期競爭對Redding他是能現在」。

上季有多失波係比人用遠射收死的,同防線冇咩直接關係,
當時對手根本可以在禁區外,舒舒服服咁起腳!
做塞位的Fletcher(O'Shea)去左邊呀。
仲有carrick的攔截成功%係Fletcher不能比的。
當然Fletcher的努力不容憒忘的,
佢唔要命的飛鏟,努力的防守也令人敬佩。
但carrick我加入令曼聯有所提高係無可厚非的。
