1. Man Unitedhave been again linked with a swoop for Southampton's Welsh international defender Gareth Bale.
The 17-year-old left-back is seen as one of the best prospects in Britain, a classy defender with an eye for goal and a fantastic repetoire of free-kicks .
2. Man United have allegedly been rebuffed in their attempts to sign Norwegian starlet Havard Nordtveit from Haugesund.
3. Owen Hargreaves and Fernando Torres continue to be linked with Old Trafford, although Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid remain vocal in their intent to keep hold of the pair.
4. Sir Alex Ferguson has been linked with a host of players when the January transfer window opens, with Darren Bent the most surpising name on a long list.
5. Jermaine Defoe is another player whose name has resurfaced as the tabloids continue to second guess which players Sir Alex Ferguson's scouts have identified as targets.
6. Hearts' goalkeeper Craig Gordon is the latest player to be linked with a switch to Old Trafford.The Reds and Arsenal are both reportedly eyeing up a move for the Scottish stopper, who turns 24 on New year's Eve and starred in his country's recent win over France.
7. Meanwhile, Man United and the Gunners are also allegedly set to do battle for Ajax striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar when the transfer window reopens in January. The 23-year-old Dutch international scored 33 goals in De Eridivisie last season, and has emerged as one of the hottest properties in Europe.
8. Mauro Camoranesi, Daniele de Rossi and Andrea Pirlo are all supposedly being monitored by Sir Alex Ferguson and his scouting staff, with January moves mooted.
