I touch dead bodies all the time...cancer, surgerical, etc.$ k. _8 s: e( s0 I0 s
/ J: K; A3 t9 A1/2 hr after dead, the body will lose the bounce and starting to feel like cold meat. It's kind of disgusting but after a while I am okay with it.* d d; ^3 ?1 ^- b* J* q5 S) P0 u

When I touch the deceased, I kept telling myself this is not a person anymore, the person is gone and this (the body) is just the shell. If I know the patient well, I would even quietly say goodbye to him/her before the nurses come and pack him/her up.5 M0 s- A5 I6 T: n+ n

The ones with accidents in the ER are really bad, but we're too busy trying to save him/her to pause and think. |
