愛華頓殘兵難鬥維拉利爾

(星島日報報道)愛華頓會在今晚的歐聯外圍賽第三圈次回合，作客西甲球隊維拉利爾。正備受傷兵問題困擾的愛華頓，有前鋒賓特趕及傷瘉復出，攻力不致大打折扣，但要在客場收復首回合落後一比二的失地並不容易。



　　周日對保頓為愛華頓一箭定江山的賓特，在賽事末段膝部受傷被逼退下火綫，幸好他能夠趕及在周三復出。賓特解釋其傷勢：「當時膝部確非常痛，但傷勢並沒有預期那麼嚴重，我在訓練中感到康復情況理想。」不過，在同一仗傷出的後衞比士東肯定在今仗倦勤。

　　賓特相信愛華頓可以克服傷兵問題，在次回合反勝維拉利爾晉身歐聯分組賽：「我們不會被傷兵問題難到，球會、領隊和球員都在努力，希望能夠重複上季的輝煌成績。」

愛華頓已成功借用羅馬後防費拉拿

Everton in pole position to win race for Ferrari

Roma defender Matteo Ferrari will play on loan at Everton in the 2005-06 campaign, according to the player's agent.


The Italy international, 25, joined Roma last summer from Parma and made 35 league appearances for the Giallorossi last season and will provide defensive cover at Goodison Park.


'Ferrari will play on loan at Everton,' his representative Giovanni Corci told Italian radio station Radio Incontro.


'We are only waiting for (club administrator Rosella) Sensi to ratify this move.'


Everton will have the option to buy the player's transfer rights next summer for £3.7million

愛華頓斟Kuyt, Owen失敗

Owen snubs Everton, Kuyt bid fails

Everton have made an unsuccessful bid to sign England striker Michael Owen.


The Real Madrid forward has had talks with several Premiership clubs in the wake of Real's double swoop for strikers Robinho and Julio Baptista.


But the 25-year-old will not be joining the Goodison Park side, whose Champions League fate will be finalised tomorrow when they take on Villarreal in their third qualifying round second leg match in Spain trailing by two goals to one.


Everton boss David Moyes said: 'We have been in contact with Michael and his advisors - and unfortunately he doesn't see Everton as a team he would choose at this present time.'


It is another snub for the Scot, who has also been turned down by Dutch striker Dirk Kuyt earlier this month.


Moyes continued: 'We offered £10million for Dirk Kuyt and that was rejected on August 1 by Feyenoord.'


However, he confirmed he is not giving up in his pursuit of players in a bid to at least match last season's fourth-place finish in the Premiership.


He added: 'I am trying to reassure fans I am in for most of the big names.


'We do have money to spend if the right players are available - but getting them in is the problem.'
