TEENAGE STAR TO JOIN REDS IN JANUARY
Liverpoolfc.tv can confirm that the club will sign highly-rated Hull winger Paul Anderson in a straight swap deal in January that will see England U-21 midfielder John Welsh moving in the opposite direction.
Welsh, currently on loan with the Championship side, has never managed to hold down a regular place in the Liverpool side with fierce competition for midfield places but in January he'll make the move to Hull permanent with Anderson joining the European champions as part of the deal.
The 17-year-old right-winger impressed Anfield staff during a trial at Melwood earlier in the season and now a swap deal has been struck.
Hull chairman Adam Pearson was keen to avoid a situation whereby Anderson would be free to leave the KC Stadium when his scholarship runs out in the summer and has opted to involve Welsh in the deal rather than leave a fee to be set by a tribunal.
Pearson said: "We don't want to lose Paul, but the fact is he wants to join Liverpool and will now do so in January in a swap for John Welsh. The ideal scenario would be to keep Paul and sign John permanently as well, but it's not to be."
