for the preliminary interview:

there will be 3 ppl sitting in front of you, (just like a board interview) asking u question relating to current affairs, the government, the immigration department and the reasons why u want to join, and how capable you r to take up that position etc......

for the extended interview:
8 L4 z8 r: r$ R E. S% e5 k3 t! T# h1 M/ }# L4 _
it's divided into 2 sections,
9 X9 X& P/ ~( q' Y- ^7 X1 is impromptu talk
2 k3 p% X( P/ {another is group discusion: |9 k+ f4 T5 C- N; f$ a; k
: h' ]) A: b% G4 Y- s- r9 f
all conducted in english

3 m2 g0 X- {$ X0 dimpromptu talk requires u to talk on a particular "word" or "picture" which is randomly choosed for 3 minutes with only a few seconds to prepare

topic like "environment, biscuit...."7 O5 a7 S* h' Z4 D) G

group discusion is just like a normal way of discusion, each candidate has a chance to speak for 1-2 minutes, and after the 1st round, those volunteered candidates can talk for some more times to supplement their points or to refute other ppl's point without coming up with a conclusion( \2 }# g* U8 Q0 E& k% v
/ F- H" D% @5 Z# q: N& T6 E$ n+ H5 R

the format is just like prelim in, but of course, the requirement to pass is much higher and the questions r much trickier!
