for the preliminary interview:

there will be 3 ppl sitting in front of you, (just like a board interview) asking u question relating to current affairs, the government, the immigration department and the reasons why u want to join, and how capable you r to take up that position etc......; K+ @0 }& h9 _. D' T& r) M$ v
2 R$ C; X/ E+ k K: }for the extended interview:

it's divided into 2 sections,
+ _6 t7 A: Q8 @% G1 is impromptu talk
) h5 y, V9 z' i3 v9 J: Xanother is group discusion4 `9 B, V# b5 i& T1 V& @! S g* R
* W* J; m* t1 U4 Z# e: ^all conducted in english9 f- T N8 [8 t/ m
9 N* ]' U+ a. l/ vimpromptu talk requires u to talk on a particular "word" or "picture" which is randomly choosed for 3 minutes with only a few seconds to prepare( \! e; d7 T7 ?+ V

topic like "environment, biscuit...."
+ M: i0 i/ s& _; X, e6 L3 u- j) P; S2 x. Q+ ?& R3 U! Y' `% h
group discusion is just like a normal way of discusion, each candidate has a chance to speak for 1-2 minutes, and after the 1st round, those volunteered candidates can talk for some more times to supplement their points or to refute other ppl's point without coming up with a conclusion

the format is just like prelim in, but of course, the requirement to pass is much higher and the questions r much trickier!
