The ideal Hong Kong can be very simply.
% H) h1 z9 c" n" t, \Just think about the thing around you and you thing you are most interested V O+ X+ B7 I
What government, world city are too unreal to me
) |# p# \) ^, f. a: rEveryone got a different ideal Hong Kong in mind) a& Y2 _% R0 |0 U1 j8 {: {0 u; C9 e
I have stayed in Australia for many years and my girlfriend is Japanese; U: p/ K: n, L+ _% J
So it's hardly to avoid comparing Hong Kong, Japan and Australia

" P9 J9 j* @$ c3 ]$ \; j3 q( IFirst of all, Hong Kong is famous for shopping, becuase the selling is extremely low
' v4 Z' B+ o! f" eHowever, the style and quality are must worse than Japan.4 R, [, t7 H3 T* S q2 S
My ideal Hong Kong is keeping low selling price but improve quality and style of the goods and service. This is very very hard to achieve.
5 c" l4 r, ?- R6 B/ xBut that is ok, we are just talking ideal. Ideal doesn't have to be achievable
8 b* j# }$ k* a' X8 D$ P2 KSecondly, the Salary are very high in Japan. High salary improve stardard of living

People are living a house. A house is hardly any to see in HK. + K T$ `$ g; v2 S& K
My ideal Hong Kong is more land, more house

All other thing between people, I respect this is unique Hong Kong cultue

I see all Chinese as foreigner. I know Hong Kong is a Chinese city
