It is a mission impossible for Middlesbrough to survive the relegation battle. Conditions for Middlesbrough to stay in Premier League are:
1. Hull City must lose to Manchester United (Let say lose by 2 goals)
2. Newcastle United must lose to Aston Villa
3. Middlesbrough must win against West Ham and they must win BIG (At least by 3 goals)
But,
1. Manchester United is the infamous saviour team for those relegation-threaten teams. Remeber West Ham 2 years ago?
2. Aston Villa's form is terrible. May be, just may be Newcastle can bring a draw.
3. Can Middlesbrough beat West Ham AWAY? Probably not.
Probability for Hull to lose to United is high. Probability for Aston Villa to beat Newcastle is high. Even Middlesbrough still has a chance to beat West Ham. But, for the above all 3 situations to occur at the same time, the probability is quite low man. Middlesbrough find only themselves to be blame for their relagation. I would not rule out Middlesbrough to survive but they are against all odds and probably to be relegated.
PROBABILITY FOR MIDDLESBROUGH TO SURVIVE = 10%
Now, Newcastle & Hull City
Conditions for Newcastle to survive is better than Middlesbrough.
If, Hull City lose to United,
then Newcastle just need a draw against Villa to survive.
If, Hull City draw with United,
then Newcastle need a win to survive.
If Hull City defeat United,
then Newcastle must win against Villa and pray hard for Sunderland to lose to Chelsea.Although Newcastle are one point behind Hull City,
But,
They have superior goal difference against Hull City
AND They are up against a team which have no form
AND Hull City may be cant even beat Manchester United Reserve Team.
Hence, these compensate the 'half a point" lead by Hull City. 50-50 for 2 teams
PROBABILITY FOR NEWCASTLE TO SURVIVE = 50%
PROBABILITY FOR HULL CITY TO SURVIVE = 50%
And AFC Sunderland a.k.a. Manchester United 'B' Team
If they win, defintely they will stay.
BUT
If they draw or lose, just pray for Hull or Newcastle not to win the game, they are secured.
PROBABILITY FOR SUNDERLAND TO SURVIVE = 90% |
