Everyone got a different ideal Hong Kong in mind
% s6 r: f9 ^  ^) J8 AI have stayed in Australia for many years and my girlfriend is Japanese9 d' l& x) E/ V8 T% l& \) F
So it's hardly to avoid comparing Hong Kong, Japan and Australia

+ M  V% j+ y7 @First of all, Hong Kong is famous for shopping, becuase the selling is extremely low
7 P( ^5 Y5 ^+ B1 E4 O# P8 b  AHowever, the style and quality are must worse than Japan.+ X. I  t  A1 t/ B; Z% _; i
My ideal Hong Kong is keeping low selling price but improve quality and style of the goods and service. This is very very hard to achieve.; @6 {8 G* Q) y1 G8 m& |! `
But that is ok, we are just talking ideal. Ideal doesn't have to be achievable2 c# [" D0 ^7 R, ^; a
Secondly, the Salary are very high in Japan. High salary improve stardard of living4 B' A" h2 e; U$ `: Q  k
So, people eat better, wear better, and even go for treavel) P9 p0 [1 R/ b
Thridly, Australia has huge area of land, hardly any to see buildings,
6 Y9 o! b; j1 l) O6 o9 P) G4 zPeople are living a house. A house is hardly any to see in HK. % A  e! M; l8 g9 Y
My ideal Hong Kong is more land, more house" ]( B( b" x4 C7 u: y2 Z8 H

All other thing between people, I respect this is unique Hong Kong cultue
