The ideal Hong Kong can be very simply.

What government, world city are too unreal to me
% x1 P9 n$ F0 a( U7 d2 C( I# \Everyone got a different ideal Hong Kong in mind
+ `& u# N( k! b. f- n: ^I have stayed in Australia for many years and my girlfriend is Japanese
% \! d9 B2 `5 P- u5 j  o3 SSo it's hardly to avoid comparing Hong Kong, Japan and Australia3 @* i9 ~4 \6 A  v7 ^: _

First of all, Hong Kong is famous for shopping, becuase the selling is extremely low/ s  H/ I& s* G: L! |
However, the style and quality are must worse than Japan.
! A4 P( c5 j/ yMy ideal Hong Kong is keeping low selling price but improve quality and style of the goods and service. This is very very hard to achieve.
% X! g6 [, B/ }* r9 MBut that is ok, we are just talking ideal. Ideal doesn't have to be achievable0 g  e$ g2 C+ R0 b
Secondly, the Salary are very high in Japan. High salary improve stardard of living: p" E; B* Q/ h% N2 p
So, people eat better, wear better, and even go for treavel

People are living a house. A house is hardly any to see in HK.

有時覺得香港冇乜天災,就已經係好理想的家
